Basilleo's on Bridge — Restaurant in Owatonna

We were there for the first time a couple weeks ago and were not impressed. First, the pizza lacked flavor and was underwhelming. Also, one of the employees spent a good portion of the time we were there visiting with the people at the table next to ours and was complaining about a customer that gave a bad review. The same employee was also eating by the front desk at one point and then proceeded to go and ask a table if they wanted more beverages while she was still chewing her food. At the end of our meal we ordered cheesecake. The cheesecake we were served was a prepackaged frozen slice. Our waitress gave us instructions to thaw it at home. The fact that it was frozen was not disclosed when we ordered it. The table next to us also ordered a dessert and attempted to eat it, but it was so frozen they couldn’t even scoop into it with their spoon and had to take it to go. I’m glad we weren’t out for a special occasion with the intent to celebrate with dessert since we had to wait until the next day to enjoy it. It is also odd that kitchen staff have to walk into the dining area to get into a storage room that holds a refrigerator/freezer to retrieve food. This occurred multiple times while we were there. will try this place one more time and give my true ratings then. For now I will give 5 stars. But I ask the general manager or owner look into this.

The Alfredo sauce was definitely Prego from a jar. The serving size was literally about 1/4 of a cup. The pizza tasted like a microwaved sponge. No flavor whatsoever. The sausage on pizza was…. I can’t even describe the taste but less than pleasant. The ravioli was bland and of appropriate proportions so that’s a plus. The garlic bread was mushy, like it was microwaved. The lettuce with the small side salad was bad showing rotten piece of lettuce. The ranch dressing was the best part of this whole experience. We waited roughly a half hour in our car. When we went back in the food was just coming out. We live less than a minute drive from this location. Our food was barely warm. Our pizza wasn’t even cut all the way. For $83.00 I expect far more than this.

If you’ve been having issues with this cook, and not sure to let them go or not…. This is your sign, let them go. They clearly do not care about their work. No pride in their work at all.

We ordered take out for our supper, none of us having tried Basilleo's before. Our order was lasagna, manicotti, alfredo, and a pepperoni pizza. Everyone that had pasta absolutely loved it. Pasta was al dente, sauce was the best we've ever had, perfect balance between sweet and savory. I wasn't a fan of the chicken on the alfredo, it was a little chewy. I personally don't like pepperoni, so I did not try the pizza. The others liked it enough, so we'll definitely try some other pies on our next visit. We really liked that their menu has smaller portions of pasta in addition to regular portions. The golf simulator looks really fun, and they have a separate room you can rent for gatherings.
