food is always good but this place pre inserts straws into customers drinks and this is disgusting. most health codes discourage bare hand contact with utensiles, and regardless if this locations doesn't prohibit it, it is vile and gross.
someone could wipe their hand over their sweaty face, the cash register people also touch disgusting dirty bills and dirty change all day long and cannot wash their hands 24/7. whoever inserts the straws regardless of their position can still have bacteria on their hands.
a worker told my mother that they train them never to touch the tip end of the straw, and to grab from the middle, but regaurdless, the sodas will touch the middle of the drink because they are filled to the top, and nobody fills a soda half way full.
there is no way to deny that this practice is gross and potentially damaging to the publics health. the workers should not be inserting our straws and we should be allowed to insert them ourselves. they could plave them in the bag with our food with a paper towel over the part they are touching, or simply wear gloves while handling the straws.
really hope they figure out something with their straws. they usually wrap a paper towel around my straw and let me put it in, but the fact still remains that i have seen them place it in with their bare hands and continue to do so. didnt make this review to damage the buisness reputation or discourage anyone from coming here. the food is always great, but health and safety come first...

And this is what it's supposed to be like. It isn't supposed to be a steak, it isn't supposed to be 2 lbs. It's supposed to be this. I was coming here in high school, I go there now, mostly with my mom. She loves it. It's part of the people, part of the folk stories. You'd be surprised how many little family stories people have that involve on their way to the Big Dipper, or something taking place there. And it's one of the big three places, The old starlight drive places: The Big Dipper, moonlight BBQ, starlight Drive-In (where Kroger's is, it used to be the local Drive-In). Point is the food is really good, and the restaurant is part of the community, part...
Read moreCame to the Dipper tonight with my brother and my husband and first we waited in the cold. They had two windows to take orders from, my brother and husband ordered from one and I stood at the other waiting to have my order taken and the girl just looked at me NEVER served me so ten minutes later , upset I step away from the window to tell my husband and a gentlemen walked up and she immediately took his order, served him and I still hadn't been helped ! I was cold angry and when I told the other lady at the 2nd window she also didn't give a care in the world ! This is unfortunate because I love the food here and the prices but the service today was horrible !! FYI I'm not one to write reviews so for me to have to speak on a business like this...
