Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Owensboro

Hello, food review time. I am very pleased with the service first and foremost. The staff are very friendly and interact their the customers at a comfortable and mannerly level. They explained the products and selection to me well and the variety of different custard forms I could purchase. They stopped by my table and asked me how the food was. The tables were clean and well kept despite them being very busy. The burger combo I ordered was the number 8 and I upgraded my hot dog selection to a chilli dog. I think the burgers are pretty good. They have really moist buttery buns if you're into that. The burger patty it's self if kind of thin and falls off the bun which is really attractive. I like the little crisp when you bite into the burger it's pretty good. If you're looking for a thicker burger like five guys it's probably not your thing but if you are used to Ritzys it's kind of like that style of patty. The pickles they give are the best part of the burger, they're long sliced dill pickles. The crunch of the pickles compliment the sandwich very well I received two pickles on my burger. They are very generous with pickles. The fries are shoe string style fries pretty good style of fry. They come with dipping sauces you can try. I tried the jalapeño sauce and it was creamy and a little bit of a kick. Nothing most people couldn't handle but it gives the sauce a good flavor. The all beef hot dog really stood out to me. It's a big dog. You're going to have to hold it with two hands and be careful not to get chilli on your shirt. It was very delicious and satisfying. I really enjoyed the dirt and worms sundae with the crumbled Oreos and two long Gummy Worms. Very cute and tasty, the custard stays at a good thickness while you eat it and doesn't melt too quickly. I was too rushed by the other customers standing behind me to order a custom made sundae so I got one that was already 'designed'. I would say to try this flavor first. I would say that this restaurant will stay at maximum customer capacity for a long while. Things worked out well for me and I loved the food and service most of all. Customer service was lacking, maybe it was a night thing. Only saw one friendly face, and that was the drive thru window girl but sadly, I mistakenly dined in. After waiting about 18 minutes for fries that were forgotten about, which mind you is not a long time, but a little ridiculous considering there was only one other set of people inside. A stern face manager asked why my mother walked to counter, she proceeded to show her receipt, and ask about the fries (we only ordered two sundaes and the fries). He then asked the pant sagging fry guy to make a large fry, he immediately grabbed fries that had been sitting there, the manage instructed him to drop fresh ones. One received they were extremely hard. No smiles, no apology. I personally thought the food was nasty but that is strictly my opinion, I do not like my fries hard. I got the normal double cheese burger. . I wasn't impressed with the thickness of the burger, it was more like a single. If it's a double, there's supposed to be a slice of cheese in-between the patties and one on top. Mine had one slice of cheese. The patties thickness was made made up for by its width. It overlapped the bun and was nicely crispier on its edges giving great flavor to the meat. Now, I have to say that mine was incredibly salty. It was almost too salty. I would normally assume that the chef put too much seasoning on such a thin pattie, but this the second time there was too much salt, only last time, none of us could finish ours. It wasn't as bad this time, but the salt was very pronounced. The place was clean, bathrooms were clean, the cashier, who was obviously having a tougher day than others, was still courteous and friendly without a peep of sarcasm towards anyone.
