Penn Station East Coast Subs — Restaurant in Owensboro

First of all, I believe the lady who waited on us was high on something. She was talking so fast you couldn’t understand a word she said. She didn’t give me back my change at the register and said she would bring it to me later. When we went to get our drinks, there was no ice. When I got my salad, I had no fork. She said she would bring me one. About 10 minutes later, the other girl working there came and finally gave my change back. Then she told me they were out of forks and just walked off. In the meantime my daughter and son got sandwiches which u could tell the cheese and meat had been sitting out way too long and the french fries were not done at all. Finally, the girl that had waited on us found a box of forks and brought me a fork. We just threw the food away and left. We were driving through and very tired, so we decided to stop here. Food was good and the service was good. However, we ordered 1 small sandwich, 1 regular wrap, 1 large fry, and two small drinks. When they told me the price, $33.46, I commented that it seemed high, the manager and the counter man both said that it was normal, so we paid and ate. I didn't look at the receipt until the next day and realized that even though we ordered small drinks and sandwiches, we were charged for larges on everything, even though we received small drinks and small sandwiches. I am disappointed, this seems a little underhanded to me. On the positive, the food was good. However, I will hesitate to return to any Penn Station because of this practice. Came here to eat as we were in town for work. First time to Kentucky! I enjoyed this restaurant. The food was really good and the cookies too. The employees were nice. I had the chicken cordon blue monthly special and my teammate had the philly. Their fries are salty. My only negative comment would be the tables and bathroom were dirty. I tried to wipe off some crumbs with a napkin so we could sit and the napkin stuck to the table. I moved our stuff to a different table. I give three stars because of the cleanliness. Debating to four stars so I’ll give 4 stars as it could be a bad day... Need to clean the tables and use clean or properly rinsed rags!
