As many of you know, Edgefit used to be like a second home to me, I recommend that gym to anybody who asked my opinion on gyms/fitness facilities around here! Unfortunately I cannot say I feel the same way about this facility anymore. I do not recommend anyone who must go to the gym after staffing hours (anyone who has to go between the hours of 7pm-8am). You are constantly removing weights that were left by other people. I had to remove 10 of the 45lbs weights from the leg press machine, although I'm very much capable of lifting the weight, it is not my responsibility and not all people who walk into the gym are able to do so. With that being said I'm assuming they do not keep a close eye on the cameras in the facility considering this was a reoccurring issue since I have been a member at the gym for the past 2 years. Secondly large groups of teenagers would be dropped off by parents only to come in there to goof off doing things like leaving weights all over the facility and playing music so loud in the ab room that I can hear it over my headphones and running around in front of members in the middle of sets which is dangerous, same kids, every night. That also leads me to believe that the cameras were not being watched because 75% of them were not members. If these kids who are using the facility consistently for free every night are aloud to do so, then why should I have to pay my $24.99 a month? If they can use this gym for free then I must be able to as well? And so should everyone else! I know that there are countless solutions to this problem considering I have been to other 24 hour gyms like Atlantis, Owensboro Gym, and even Planet Fitness and have never experienced anything like this. With that being said I'm extremely disappointed and will no longer be attending this gym! I would try talking to staff about this issue but since I work regular work hours 7-7 it's hard to make a special trip to the facility to talk to management. Secondly it is almost impossible to get anyone to answer the phone over there.
Just wanted to put another review on here to warn people. DO NOT SIGN UP! This place is a toxic trap! They do not keep records of payments or any billing information for their clients. They are CONSTANTLY having billing issues with several clients and also tried to send collections after several members due to the FACILITYS billing errors. I recommend the Athenian, Owensboro Gym, the Health Park... anywhere but here. The receptionist Tonya is EXTREMELY rude and VERY unprofessional in many ways. Also, you cannot get ahold of the owner either, you must come to the gym on HIS time if you would like to discuss the issues you're having with the gym. This place is a wreck. I would STAY AWAY! Read moreI actually have not had the same experience as the previous post. I was just thinking to myself the other day that it was amazing how many towels were available. Yes, I did have to go to the back to get them, but that's because it was a Sunday evening. Every other evening I've been there (and that was 4-5 times in the week), the towels have been stocked. The front desk has been kind and helpful when I've been in. The bottles with formula for cleaning were completely full and the tanning bed rooms were clean. The bathrooms were clean too. Machines were clean and working. I am not sure what gym Dana is going to, but I have to disagree with those comments. Anytime I've had a concern, I just reach out and It's been addressed. Read moreThe gym is great as far as facilities and machines available. Unfortunately their communication is poor and their pricing model is confusing. I purchased a membership back in February 2020 the gym was shortly thereafter closed because of COVID. I recently decided I would rather go to a smaller gym closer to my house. I went in to cancel my membership and I was informed that i couldn't cancel because I had signed up for a 1 year contract. At no point during the initial sign up process was I informed that this was a one year contract. The gentleman that I was talking to then said that they had fired some employees because they were not disclosing this information, but he still wouldn't allow me to cancel my membership without paying out the remaining months.
