Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Owensboro

Online app order picked up in store. Order was missing several items so they remade the entire order so that everything was hot & fresh. It did not take long to remake. I ordered a CLASSIC CHICKEN SANDWICH. It was the same price as other very popular chicken sandwiches that only come with 2 little pickle slices on them. This sandwich has a nice healthy hand breaded Chicken breast which was Juicy & tasty on top of a nicer toasted Brioche Bun, a lovely Herbed Mayo based sauce & very nice thick sliced crunchy Pickles. Very tasty. I received fries which I had not paid for bit mabey that was cause they had to remake my order. They were good. I also ordered FRIED OKRA & FRIED MUSHROOMS both were very tasty but the serving portion was a bit skimpy for the price but I will still probably order them again. The SLIM SAUCE was nice & not spicy at all (if fact it could have used just a touch of heat to brighten it up) but was perfect for my family who has no heat tolerance. I also picked up a side of SLAW for my mother which we did not care for at all. The RESTROOM was clean, the kitchen which I observed while they remade my food was clean, staff seamed to be fairly well trained, friendly & organized even with the small hiccupwith my order. The dining room was nice & they also have some outdoor dining available. My one real disappointment was with the online ordering/ menu. There was no option for ordering just CHICKEN TENDERS or just WINGS without getting a combo meal & as I didn't want a drink or fries this left me with...

After getting there it was busy as it’s new. The man behind the counter couldn’t tell me if there was whipped cream on the milkshakes. I asked that not be put on if there was. he asked a manager who didn’t know. Then I asked if the hot was buffalo style or was there only one level of buffalo style sauce they didn’t know that either. Then I went to set down but none of the tables were clean. I looked up and 3 workers were in line to go to lunch maybe send one to clean up. The food came out and it was bland nothing special. The buffalo and hot sauce wasn’t hot. The wings were over cooked and probably old. The chicken fingers were better, not over cooked or old but still bland. It’s ok if you’re used to food that’s not seasoned. So maybe a step up from McDonald’s but not in the class of ...

So this was our second time here. The first time was way better. While the food was good this time the service was horrible. It wasn't busy and we had to wait serval minutes for someone from the back to come out and take our order then we waited longer than last time to get our food when there wasn't a third as many people there. We reminded them when our food came we had a milkshake and they said it would be right out. Several minutes later I went up front ans asked about it to be told it was being made.
