El Tucan Del Cielo — Restaurant in Owensboro

3.5- 4 stars... Tonight was our first time eating here. First thing we noticed was the parking was limited since it's in a strip mall sharing a lot. Secondly this is a small resturant so getting around with a walker or wheelchair might be an issue. Prices is average, ranging from $7- $15+. Food was hot and tasty, nachos could use cheese sauce. But for the price you couldn't beat it. The service on the other hand could use some work. We went around 5-6 on a Saturday night and when we arrived, there was maybe 3 to 5 other groups. We got our menus semi quick and once we got around to ordering, it didnt take to long to get our food. But toward the end we was ready for to go boxes and our ticket and trying to get our waiters attention was slim to none due to his tv watching/checking phone. One of the ladies there seemed like a sweetheart though. Overall I think we agreed to go back...

The tacos were good but I didn't get what I ordered, I had ordered a hard shell taco with only meat and cheese, and I specified no rice and beans. 5 minutes later, low and behold, rice and beans. We also ordered cheese dip when we were seated, and never got it, when we reminded the server, he came back with a small cheese dip, when we ordered a large. My mom also ordered a burrito, and on the menu it didn't have cheese dip, and she ordered it solely because it didn't have cheese dip, and it had cheese dip, and the server was straight up arguing with her over it, and when we decided we were just done with the place, we ordered a large cheese dip to go, and the server never brought it, so we got up, paid for what we actually got, and left. We were also the only people there.

Dine in Lunch.. The staff is always very friendly, the food is delicious and served quickly, the menu has a large selection with lots of options including healthier items, vegetarian options, classics & a variety of items to accommodate small to very large appetites. The menu pricing also ranges from lower cost to higher for more premium menu items but there are multiple items if you are on a tight budget. The portions are nice and no matter what you select it is a good value. The queso is delicious and the salsa is flavorful. Favorite Mexican Restaurant...
