Sakura Japanese, Thai, Spirits — Restaurant in Owosso

Our birthday lunch experience here today with a party of 11 people was absolutely fantastic! Five members of the party drove from about 1 hour way to be able to attend and one also flew in from 2,000 miles away. This was a first time experience for 8 members of the party.

Elizabeth our server was on top of everything for our celebration! She kept our drinks full, would pre-bus our table to help keep table space available for more food coming out and empty dishes out of the way, brought out in a timely manner any other sauces that were needed and made sure to check back just the right amount of time throughout the meal. She did a phenomenal job and we were above and beyond pleased with how well she did with our large party.

Dani was such much fun, super nice and professional. You can tell he takes a lot of care in providing an amazing experience. Even though the kitchen was busy knocking out a lot of food for our table (and other customers), he made time to come out to check on us and make sure everything was meeting expectations. The kitchen staff did a wonderful job plating the meals, getting it out in a timely manner, everything we tried was so good and portions definitely fill a person up!!

Moving here from an extremely large city, it is so awesome to see a restaurant like this in a small town! Definitely a place to go and looking forward to coming back for another round! Wish I would have taken some pictures, but was enjoying the food to much to remember. Thank...

VERY DISAPOINTED! We went to Sakura Japanese, Thai, Spirits Oct.8th located in Owosso, Mi. to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husband’s 81st birthday, a table of three. Our food was brought out to us one meal at a time around 10 to15 minutes apart. Two of us didn’t eat at this time as we were waiting for my husband’s meal to be served at which another 15 minutes had gone by. Our waitress never returned to our table so we couldn’t mention anything to her. (our meals were brought out by other people) my husband mentioned our concern to Joe, the host who seated us about how our meals were not being served at the same time or close to it. Joe became very arrogant towards my husband stating we would have to get used to it! We went there to have a nice dinner, EAT TOGETher and have an enjoyable night, never happened. My rice was very dry and hard, the salmon rubbery, the third person at our table ordered steak, rare, which came out more than well done…the host, Joe took the plate away from the third party at our table and then moments later returned with it and argued with him over the doneness of the steak, stating that’s how they do it in Traverse City! What the hell does TC have to do with us there in this Owosso establishment the night of Oct 8th! Shall I say…we will not be returning, so no Joe, we will not...

When we first arrived we didn’t want to sit at the bar so we got wait listed and noticed two other couples were seated before us so we went back inside and stood there to remind them that we were waitlisted for refusing to be at the bar. We then were seated immediately. Our first server seemed like she didn’t have the time of day. I was getting kind of pissed like first the table ordeal and now the service is rude. We then got a new waitress because the first one left for the day. The second one was blonde and ON HER GAME!! The food was really fresh and awesome I liked how they did things here such as brought pepper flakes to you so you control the heat on your food spice wise. It was very good. Try it out!!!!
