Jade Buffet — Restaurant in Owosso

Today is the very last time I will ever eat here. I quite eating here years ago for the same reason I'm writing this review. I decided to give it another chance but obviously that was a huge mistake and waste of money. The food is NEVER hot, always luke warm or cold. Egg rolls and spring rolls are supposed to be crispy, not soggy, they also shouldn't taste like fish. There were a few other food items I had off the buffet that also had a fishy taste which is down right nasty when the food is already colder than it should be. The other issue I have is the fact the employees here are obviously only there for the paycheck, never once have I seen a single one of them smile or try to act friendly. This is nothing more than a trashy ghetto buffet Chinese people wouldn't even eat. Place should be shut down, not sure how they received such great ratings unless everyone is oblivious to what decent food should taste like or they are having the employees write them. Took my family to eat here tonight figuring never been here has great reviews why not try it out especially because they have the hibachi upon walking in and getting seated at our table we noticed small flies all over it wasn't just a few it was at least 40 or 50 small flies surrounding our table on the walls around our table the only reason I am giving two stars is because when brought to the attention of the establishment they tried to handle it promptly did not charge us for the meal that we barely ate due to the flies even at the buffet there was flies surrounding the food all they kept saying was it's because it's wet outside I understand moisture is going to make flies worse but that was completely ridiculous and then to have somebody smacking flies with an electric fly swatter right next to where we were trying to eat was very unappealing. I am a frequent flyer of chinese buffets. We just moved at the end of last year and were struggling to find chinese food near us that we liked. And then we discovered this place.

I have never, in all my years of eating at buffets, had such well-cooked food. The chicken was moist and tender, but not soggy. The beef was almost melt in the mouth. And the sushi? Simply wonderful, and a surprising variety to boot! Myself and my husband were so impressed that we've promised each other to make it a regular date night spot.

We had one complaint, and it was a very small one because the food was so good we didnt mind: the spices are a bit on the mild side. Everything tastes good and like it has seasonings with the exception of pepper or much heat oddly? We chalked this up to the area, as it is a farming zone with lots of older people who tend to like milder food. It was easily solved with a pepper shaker.
