This was our first visit back in over a year and a half. We were anticipating the same delicious dishes we always used to get. Sadly, it was not to be. The food was over cooked and even the egg rolls were bad. Very dark, very small and just not good. It was not busy yet we had to wait 45 minutes for our phone order. 45 minutes was perhaps too long because the food was dried out and very hard. We get takeout once per week to support local,, and this meal was definitely not worth waiting for.. The egg drop soup which was always stellar, and homemade, was terrible and tasted like it was canned. What a disappointment after waiting so long. I called to let them know, and they gave us a credit for next time, but honestly, we just may choose somewhere else next...

Fortune House Restaurant is definitely Quality food with good prices. The atmosphere is peaceful with a feel of elegancy. Even our waitress, Gonie, was superb. Everything we had was perfect in every way. Which, considering I’m a mother of a true Chef, it takes a lot to impress me. Fortune House Restaurant done just that. In fact, when we requested to speak with someone about the restaurant, the owner (Kaying)herself, came to our table. We complimented her on the fine establishment and our experience. Menu was quite extensive, though decidedly lacking in any mention of vegetarian options. A small and decidedly uninspired buffet is offered at lunch time. Selection was limited so we opted for something off menu. My companion selected a sweet and sour chicken, and found the sauce decidedly below expectations. My veggie chow mein was tasty but just a bit under cooked. Broccoli was impossible to chew, as were carrots. Taste however was as it should be.
