The Avenue Bar and Grill LLC — Restaurant in Owosso

My husband and I go on a regular basis. They are awesome!! Would give 10 stars if I could. We usually go to hang out and plan to be there for a bit, so I can't judge the speed of service. Parking sucks, but I definitely go at their busier time and that's a testament to how good they are at what they do. Everything else is awesome. Food is great, drinks are delicious. I do not eat meat, but I really enjoy their nachos (base is without meat, adding meat is an upgrade), sweet potato fries, and elephant ear bites. They also have deep fried oreos! The bartenders are usually pretty busy, but they make sure their customers are taken care of. There is an area for smoking outside and they so considerately have heaters. Can't beat that! I will...

So this place is very much a bar that serves food and not a bar and grill. The food was pretty good, the beer battered fish was much better than the Pickle Rick Chicken Sandwich but it was all decent tasting.

The servers were all very nice, the problem was that they didn't serve us that often. I had to go up to the bar to request our bill, to get silverware, and to check on my beer (that was never ready).

The atmosphere was not family friendly. Again, this is a bar so there is loud music, people drinking and being loud, and it kind of smelled like smoke because of the people coming in and out.

We went for the first time over the weekend. There was a pool tournament going on. We shared a table with strangers who allowed us to sit with them. The service was not good, it took the gal at our table to go get the waitress to come take our order. When the food arrived, the waitress didn't bring my husband flatware or napkins and never came back to ask if we needed anything else or to ask if our food was good. Thankfully the food was good, the new lady chef is excellent! Meals are very overpriced for what you get. Don't recommend for anyone with food allergies. Atmosphere I rated in the middle as there are only high top tables and definitely not enough seating for people...
