Really disappointed in this place. Drove a ways to get here (40 mins) and all I can say is wow. Really disturbed by the quality and service.
When you order a hot toddy, you expect it to be "hot". When brought up with the waitress and asked specifically can you please have these made again, "hot" she reply's yep. We can warm them up for you….something is wrong with that approach.
As another reviewer pointed out, the beef b is reminiscent of Coney Island mystery meat.
Do not under any circumstances order the beef bourguignon. It was reheated, overcooked and definitely not edible. Have you ever cooked beef Wellington or similar beef (steak) then put in the fridge then reheat then repeat and repeat and then eat as “NEW”? Of course not, unless you want to experience what you would envision dog meat from a can tasted like. I had three people at my table try the beef and they all said wth this doesn't taste right. When you reheat meat nonstop and serve as “braised” ot otherwise “cooked” you ruin the flow or and turn it into a tasteless disturbing piece of mystery meat. My brother ordered the same dish and all four of us had an aha moment after tasting when we both thought it didn’t taste right that we won’t ever forget. I wanted to get the hell out of there and have a drink nearby to rid myself of the nasty old taste. Very disappointed in this place as nothing is “French” about it.
So why did we not say anything? Because the waitress was less than interested in being there and frankly, it showed each and every time she intermittently checked on us.
What’s funny is we left Kruse and Muer (post one drink with the couples) which was major mistake on my end. I try hard to venture out and try new to me places. Sometimes you win and sometimes you dont.
I have zero idea how this place has reviews on yelp with a higher than average rating. Either Victoria has tons of locals friends family reviewing (which is common practice on yelp and google) or sadly, the taste buds of patrons in the area are totally off.
The only dish that tasted normal and or had an iota of flavor was the side Cesar salad, and a chicken dish with rice. The whitefish was smothered in Dijon and not in a good way.
Their cocktail menu was average but nothing I would be sharing with friends and family.

Read more🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 If I could give this restaurant a Michelin star and double the stars on Google, I would in a heartbeat. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a sense of warmth and excellence that’s hard to find anywhere else.
The presentation of each dish is stunning—truly a feast for the eyes—but it’s the flavors that steal the show. Every bite is more incredible than anything we’ve tasted at any restaurant, near or far. The culinary creativity here is unmatched.
Service is consistently top-tier. Joel, our favorite bartender, is a master mixologist who can craft anything you dream up. His talent and charm make every visit feel special.
Victoria, the owner, is the heart and soul of this place. Her dedication is inspiring—whether she’s hosting guests, wiping down tables, mixing drinks, or buried in paperwork, she’s always hands-on and fully invested. She welcomes you with a sweet smile and treats you like part of her team. Her passion for discovering new flavors from around the world is evident in every dish.
My husband and I have never walked in without seeing Victoria working hard and making sure every detail is perfect. Her restaurant is, without question, the best we’ve found within 100 miles in any direction.
This place isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. And it’s one we’ll keep coming back to...
Read moreI would like to make others aware of a situation that just happened to me: some friends and I signed up for an event at Victoria's on May 28, 2015. I was unable to make the event because my daughter-in-law gave birth to my grand daughter earlier than expected on May 27 in Chicago. I called and asked about their refund policy, was told they would have to be notified of a cancellation 2 weeks before the event to get a gift certificate for the amount I paid for the event, but that he would ask about my situation...he called back and unfortunately for me, no refund or gift certificate would be available to me, but that another person could go in my place....that was impossible as the event was scheduled to start in about an hour....just wanted to warn others of this 'policy'...I will make my friends aware of this, too, and we will find other places to go to that have a refund policy that is better suited for customers that have an grand baby show up early, get sick, or have another issue that prevents them from attending a...
