The worst experience dining out for breakfast ever so I get my plate n there is a hair on there. I don’t understand how they did not see it. It was a black hair on a white plate as soon as the waitress put the plate down, I saw it immediately. I looked over to the girl with glasses at the register and told her very discreetly that there was a hair on my plate. She came grabbed my plate and went and got me another one, so yes, I ate my food but was very uncomfortable the whole time. As we got the bill I noticed there was no consideration for what had happened to me so I asked the same girl I don’t get any kind of discount for what happened. She said let me ask the manager I said OK she came back and gave me the bill and it was $1.45 less , I was insulted I said this is it I said I find a hair in my plate and this is all I get and she says yes that’s what the manager said. I said I want to speak to our waitress (Ana) that brought the plate she was even ruder, when I asked her did you not see the hair on my plate? She said no, and she smirked. She kinda laughed at my face (double whammy) not to mention that the whole time we were there eating Ana never came by to ask for refills of coffee or water. (Not even once) so then I said I wanna speak to the manager after speaking to him for about 10 minutes (at least) and I told him how insulted I was with the situation. Mind you that same girl with the glasses has her nerve to pass by as I am pissed and says everybody makes mistakes. Girl this is not the time for you to chime in. I told him what he’s telling me should happen, and how it should happen did not happen. I told him he needs to check his workers. I even told him check the cameras just so he would know that I am not lying about anything that I was saying , he did give me a free ticket meal to return. I will not be returning. I don’t care if it’s a free meal I will not be returning. Just wanted to give everybody a heads up. Check your plate, where there’s one hair...
Read moreAbsolute WORST breakfast in many years! First of all, the place has all the warmth and ambience of a warehouse. The server was pleasant, but had to be asked for every single thing multiple times including refills on coffee. I even had to ask another server to ask her to bring a refill. My wife ordered the chicken teriyaki salad which turned out to be a bowl of salad greens topped with processed pre-cooked chicken and bottled teriyaki sauce. I ordered a California omelet It was dried out and tasteless. I ate part of it and left the rest. The hash brown potatoes were flavorless and indifferent. I left half of those over as well. When the server asked me If she could take my plate, she noticed that I hadn't eaten half of my breakfast. She asked me why and I told her. Her answer was to shrug her shoulders and walk away. She didn't offer to get me something else. When I went to the cashier she gave me one of those bright, cheery indincere smiles and asked how I liked my breakfast. I told her that since she asked, it was the worst breakfast I've had in many years. She said, "I'm very sorry." Then, without any further discussion, she rang up the full price of our meals and handed me the ticket. I said, "I see. You're "very sorry," but you're not sorry enough to offer any kind of adjustment." She replied that the server would have offered me something else if I had told her. I said that I had told the server and the server did not offer me a substitute. The place is dismal and for almost $22, the omlet was a joke. The only thing decent about it was the tiny portion of ripe avocado garnishing the top. The cashier kept repeating that she was sorry, but she did not offer to have me speak to the manager. I told her I didn't want to hear anymore about how sorry she was, and that if she was truly sorry, she would have made a price adjustment. My wife needed to get to work, so I didn't pursue the matter further. It simply wasn't worth it. We will...
Read moreI ate at this restaurant yesterday after I finished my appt. at the SS office in Oxnard. I saw it last week when I went to the SS office, when I came out and got in my car I saw it there, I went over to check it out but it was closed already. Only served breakfast & lunch closes at 2pm. I thought the weird name seemed familiar, then I remembered some of my church friends telling me that they love this place and go to it often after church. I looked it up on my Google maps to see the menu and read the reviews. The pictures all posted by customers showed very delicious and pleasantly presented plates of breakfast and lunch. The reviews praised the service& food quality. When I saw they had a very lovely looking plate of Eggs Benedict, which is my favorite egg breakfast I decided I must try it (it is also how I judge a restaurants quality, as this dish has to be perfectly prepared to pass). Well, I was NOT disappointed! The eggs were perfectly poached, double layer of ham, perfectly toasted English muffin, and the most important part is the hollandaise sauce, perfect flavor and consistency! I had them add avocado 🥑. Home made potatoes were good, although should have asked for the O'Brian potatoes. For a place with a weird name and located in a unusual spot, there were plenty of customers, many that seemed like regulars that filled the nice sized establishment. I highly recommend if you are an affectionado of many choices of homemade pancakes, Belgium waffles (my next time), specialty French toast and of course that hard to get perfect Eggs Benedict ...go to AMRI located in The Palms (former Oxnard shopping Outlet). It is next to...
