Outback Steakhouse — Restaurant in Oxnard

I Went this past Thursday to have dinner with my boyfriend, we just bought a house so we wanted to celebrate and what better place than Outback statehouse. We didn't have to wait more than 40min so that was ok...hostesses were really nice but felt uncomfortable when they were fighting with the server, do that on the side not in front of the guest. Anyhow, we finally got sat and our server was really nice and welcoming. However, once we got our food we were taken care of by the runners after that we didn't see our server for pretty much our whole dinner. Once we finished we wanted to take home some left overs, but it took forever to get boxes. I finally had to get another server to help me out. At this point i just wanted to leave..our server dropped off our check and just said "thank you guys" and walk away..wow!.... I was very specific because being a previous server/manager for Black Angus for 5 years this is unacceptable. I don't want to get anyone in trouble but just stating my experience and celebrating a great Accomplishment with my boyfriend and I. Our experience at your restaurant was disappointing, i don't think we will go back. On the positive side, the food was excellent. I don't recall the gentleman's name because he wasn't wearing a name tag, but he was a tall slim caucasian kid blonde hair. Don't want him to get in trouble just a simple coaching that will help him be a better server. Thank you...

Update: our server Melanie was very nice. However, it took 15 minutes to get my first drink. It was taking so long that I finally started a timer on my watch. We came early to beat the rush and it was empty, but still took forever for appetizers, water, and Dr. Pepper, then drinks after, after, the meal had come. Usually, my drink comes with the appetizer. It took so long that I ordered a second drink when I got my first. My friend ordered a drink as well, but it was too sweet for her so she ordered the same as mine. I gave her my drink when it came and was waiting for her drink which never came never came, and we had to cancel because we had an appointment to get to. We came early to avoid the rush, but slow delivery marred the dinner. Ordered the Prime Rib medium which was delicious as always. Love their bloomin' Onion. The bread was soft. My daughter ordered the shrimp and fettuccine, which she enjoyed. For reals, I KNOW our server, Melanie was polite and kept checking on our drinks and food but it just wasn't coming out despite it being slow. But when we got it, it was very tasty.

Very good service despite COVID...

I recently dined at Outback Steakhouse, and the experience was fantastic! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and friendly service. The staff was attentive without being overbearing, making sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed throughout the meal.

For the main course, I ordered the Ribeye, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. The steak was juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. My dining partner had the Grilled Chicken on the Barbie, which was equally satisfying—moist, flavorful, and well-prepared. The sides, from the creamy mashed potatoes to the fresh vegetables, were a great complement to the mains.
