Updated Review and Updated Rating As of May 2020: I was finally able to visit to any Mason's location and very fortunately for me, this location is near my home. I ordered Online via their (very cool) App. I wanted to try to get as much as I could to last me at least 2 days, so ordered a Main Event Bar Harbor Lobster Roll, Lobster Mac and Cheese, a side of Potato Salad w/a Pickle, a Side of Lobster Meat, Spear, and a Whoopie Cream Pie. I also ordered a Mason's Cap in Navy Blue. My order was ready when I got there and the employees were very nice. Keep in mind that this visit was during The COVID-19 Global Pandemic Crisis, and I felt that Mason's has done a phenomenal job of displaying, among other things, Excellent and Clear Sinage and Social Distancing Markers and Other Related Information to ensure that both their Customers and Employees can remain as safe and well as possible during this Unprecedented Pandemic Crisis. I am not even sure how to describe How Delicious All of My Food and Whoopie tasted....and I admit that I was Very Skeptical at first that just 1 Lobster Roll could satisfy me. But their Lobster Roll was Overflowing with Lobster Meat...And the Roll itself was Fresh and perfectly Buttery. Their Potato Salad was also a Very Pleasant Surprise especially since I could tell that it is Homemade, fresh and quite delicious. My Hunger was completely satisfied and I will be Ordering all of these food items, as well as their Amazing Mac and Cheese again asap. Their Baseball is Awesome too and I'm certain I'll be purchasing more of them and their other Merchandise as gifts for Family and Friends. Please Note: This Mason's location also uses Electronic Receipts which is also a Very Cool feature to me.My Previous Review From Approx. June of 2018 Is/Was As Follows*: I have not yet been to this Masons Location In Person. However, I did have a chance to download their App and also call them at least twice in the last 6 months. I did not identify myself as a GLG when I called the first time because as a Potential Customer, I have always attempted to first reach a business by telephone if possible if I have never been a Customer. My theory is for example, if the employees or employees are Kind, Courteous and Professional via telephone, this is also most likely the way you will be treated In Person. For the most part, my theory has proven to be correct. The Employees I spoke with at this Mason's location totally exceeded my expectations in regards to what I consider to be as excellent Telephone Etiquette/Excellent Customer Care and Service. In Other Words, and based solely the amazing employees that I spoke with via telephone, my first visit to visit this Mason's location In Person much sooner than later. The mouth-watering photos of their menu items are also added incentives, as is the design and pristine cleanliness of their storefront. I live for Adirondack Chairs and Mason's has two of them outside placed at an angle that is not only perfect for NH Watching, but the chairs themselves still allow plenty of room for Pedestrian Traffic. As soon as I am able to visit this location in person I will update...
Read moreI am a very very easy customer to please.
The lobster roll was 5/5. Delicious!!
The cashier.. literally looked like she wanted to kill someone. Batrhoom was dirty, urine on floor and on toilet seats.
Cashier.. Terrible personality, did not smile, etc. A tiny bit of customer service goes a long way.
I work in Management as well.. some employees are poison. Get rid of them, as they are doing an injustice to an otherwise awesome spot.
UPDATE
I am amending my review from 3 to 5 stars based upon the expedient response from the owner (see below), and my assumption that his/her team member will be coached/retrained. As you can see from my profile of reviews, I have never NOT written a 5 star for a place. That is how bad her attitude was.
I did the review for the benefit of ownership/management, as I know you can not always control the attitudes of employees, and are often even unaware... and that can have a detrimental impact on what otherwise seems like a phenomenal business with great food.
I will not name the employee out of respect for her privacy, however I was at the establishment Friday, May 11, at approximately 8:45 p.m. There were 2 people working. 1 cashier. 1 food prep.
With that said, the lobster roll could not have been better. (And I say that having lived in Maine for 2 years). Absolutely perfect!!
I will be back here next month when my wife is in town.
Thank you for taking the...
Read moreI stopped in on 29 June 2024 in the afternoon to try a classic lobster roll. I thought that it was good. It wasn't the best lobster roll I've had, but it tasted good. The bread was more crunchy than other lobster rolls I've had in the past, but the flavor was nice. The whoopie pies they have available are a tasty dessert.
I'm giving a lower rating because of the employees. The employees weren't overly rude, but they were completely indifferent to anything that was happening in the restaurant aside from having a personal conversation between the three of them. All three of the employees working acted like it was an inconvenience to help me and the other customers. I felt like I was inconveniencing them by placing an order. The gentlemen who gave me my order just looked down and nodded when I said thank you to him. The vibe that they employees emanated wasn't welcoming.
I wouldn't return to this Mason's unless I was staying nearby and placed a delivery order. I wouldn't want to interact with the employees again. I've worked in restaurants before. I understand how frustrating it can be, but I was the easiest customer they could've dealt with, and I strive to be easy wherever I go due to my history of working in...
