When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly waitress. She seemed nice and on her A-game. I ordered the Asilomar, which was a bacon wrapped chili dog with cheese sauce and jalapeños, and the Ollie, tater tots with a sprinkle of green onion (why the green onion? Who knows). Once I received my order, it looked kinda good, but it really wasn’t. I was clueless on how I should approach eating it. The bun was very soggy. I picked up the dog and it all fell apart and plopped back into the boat. It was very sad. I took a bite anyway because I was hungry and what do you know, no flavor... The dog it’s self was kinda greasy, I got a small hint of beef but that was it. I saw the bacon but the flavor was nonexistent. The chili was probably the worst part. No flavor, bland, you name it! I took a closer look and saw that they used canned tomatoes...That’s a no-go. Canned? In a restaurant? You gotta be kidding me. The cheese sauce was subpar, no real flavor. It was all just sad.
The tater tots were pretty subpar too. I buy the Great Value ones at Walmart and those taste better than these!! $8 for this? What? I can get a bag for like $5 and it’ll last a good week tops! Why the green onion? It’s not healthy food so why bother adding it? The green onion did not taste fresh either. It tasted as if it was just sitting there for a few hours, precut, waiting to be sprinkled on some subpar tots. Disgusting.
Overall, the food was not to my liking nor were the prices. $12 for a subpar hot dog? No thank you. $8 for some subpar tater tots with a sprinkle of stale green onion? Nope. If you like subpar food, this place is for you! I will say the service was nice, but that’s all this place will get. The addition of live music was nice too so that’s why I’m rating this place 2 stars. If you want a good place with good food and atmosphere, you need to work more on the most important...
Read moreSo Lucy’s was a complete accident! I was looking for a barbecue place for a tri-tip sandwich! And the 10 best places on yo how Lucy’s on the list as a barbecue spot, So I decided to travel all over! When I get there, the scenery was real different! In a very good way though! Family, friendly and very inviting! I walk in and I see the menu. The menu mostly consisted of hotdogs! But not just regular hotdogs like gourmet fully loaded hotdogs! They had all beef hotdog from Nathan‘s, which was the actual place to me because I don’t eat pork! There were so many choices And the Young lady behind the counter, made a few suggestions and we ended up landing on something in between what she suggested Of course that wasn’t really on the menu😂 Nevertheless, she made it happen effortlessly and was so sweet! She asked for my name for the order and told me they called my name out once my order was ready. I decided to go back outside because the decor was very interesting with the surfboards and everything! Side Note: when my order was ready, she ended up bringing it out to me! With utensils and napkins! And even ask if there was anything else I needed Just overall super great service! It seems like a really nice family friendly place! A good place also to meet up with friends. I have a few good IPAs!! Even though it’s not what I wanted originally It ended up being a fire! 🔥 I literally had to stop to take a picture of what was left cause I went in as soon as I sat Down it smells so good and looks so good! 10 out of 10 definitely recommend!
Last thoughts: Whoever served me today at that counter was amazing! Her energy and sweetness actually brighten my day! If everyone that walks into Lucy‘s experiences, what I experience today…. Be prepared to have...
Read moreThis skateboarding themed eatery is legit, no cap just high-quality finger food. First the hot dogs are top shelf no matter how you dress them up. I tried pulled pork and grilled onions on my bacon wrapped dog. I was impressed by the pulled pork and believe that this one item could feed 2 people. Of course I had to try the corn dogs, crunchy sweet outer layer big juicy dog inside. Next I am not a big fan of tater tots however these were probably the best tots I have ever had. They are big crunchy outside soft inside basically perfect tots. Tots take the place of fries here, not my choice but definitely tasty and come in a variety of flavors. I got a blunt, that's code for coleslaw and it was delicious not to sweet, just simple delicious coleslaw, perfect to break up the calorie fest 😋. I didn't try the Brussel sprouts but they are very popular here and the ice cream options are highly rated as well. Very clean establishment, nice outside tables wrapped around the building. They had very pleasant 80s and 90s music, my favorite playing over the speakers inside and out. Weekends they have live music outside on the patio. I'm a skatborder for life and seeing pictures of the ramp I helped build and skated with close friends up on the wall at Lucy's was a surprise and brought back memories. Watching so many locals coming in for grub was great, children seem to love this place. So if you are reading this stop wondering and just go. One last thing yes grom dogs are 3 dollars however most items are priced to match the quality...
