Oscar's Taco Shop — Restaurant in Paducah

On Sept 5, 2025 I wanted food from one of my favorite places, Oscar’s. That day the attitude of the cashier and someone who came from the kitchen I could not believe. I had never had that happen ever! I have even referred people there. I spent $66.99. Problem 1 that I seen that had never happen was the 3piece chicken tender my Granddaughter always gets. It was 1 chicken strip cut into 3 pieces. The second we noticed was the smell of My Daughter’s burrito. She have ground beef in hers. She was eating it and it tasted funny and she thought it was her taste buds and said she wouldn’t order it again. She opens it and pours a lot of cheese on it so she could eat it and then the smell hit her nose. She had me smell it and it was spoiled. It was too late for my 7yr old Grandson who had eaten his rolled tacos also made with the ground beef. We drove all the way back to Oscar’s and she pulls the cashier to the side so the other customers could t hear her and told her about the burrito. The cashier takes the burrito to the kitchen and the people in the back couldn’t smell that it was spoiled but the cashier said she could smell it. She said she would give the refund back for the burrito and once my Daughter told her about the “3piece” chicken strip she got upset and raised her voice and told her she was refunding the money for that which was also in the returned bag. She walked off and a guy came from the kitchen and was trying to give my Daughter $11.50 for a burrito she didn’t eat that cost $11.86 before tax. When she said something about that he asked for the receipt. He ended up giving her the $11.86 plus $6.99 for the chicken strips without the tax added. We didn’t even make a big deal out of the situation they did. I wasn’t even trying to get the money back for the spoiled rolled tacos my Grandson had already eaten. Not everyone who has a problem with their food scream and yell and want free food. We clearly returned the food without a full refund for the returned food. They were very rude and disrespectful and I hate that because that was one of my fav places to go. I treated myself to Oscar’ at least 4-5x a month but that did it for me!!!! They could have at least given me the full amount of the returned food plus the tax for the spoiled food that they kept...

I hope nothing changes from day one of opening, including the welcoming demeanor of the staff. You can tell that the owner's/cooks care about their end- product as a testsment of OSCARS precious taste. Let's start with the meats... Pork beef and chicken and fish all available on tacos, burritos and etc. Hop over to the toppings bar and there you'll see pickled items & taco- makers. IMO, this is what places Oscar's above their competition as these items add the freshest of flavors!

The place is spanking new, in the old COOKIE DOE CO. building behind ZAXBYS wash down on Hinkleville Rd, so you know it's clean. The workers & owners seem to be the type to keep it clean (a rarity in Paducah) and ALSO KEEP THE QUALITY & PRICING OF GREAT MEXICAN EATS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH in the city.

Try the PASTOR, AND CARNITAS...Bypass Zaxbys and Culver's.... and pull on into OSCAR'S.... Hopefully they'll get in doordash AND THE DELIVERY WILL INCREASE MY CHANCES OF...

I have eaten here every day for the last two weeks.

One of the few restaurants where I want to try everything. The service is also wonderful. I know it is difficult working in food service. I have no expectationa about anything.

I do love that I am greeted with a smile and gratitude. The atmosphere is lovely and friendly.

My food always comes out fast and hot.

The food is affordable and delicious.

The Al Pastor in particular is amazing. The pastor torta is my favorite thing on the menu. It is incredibly filling and delicious.

If you eat inside you get access to free chips and a salsa bar. The tomatillo salsa is delicious.

My favorite thing on the salsa bar is thr blistered peppers served with red onions. The peppers and onions are not over hot and so their wonderful flavor is highlighted. They go with everything on the menu.

I'm so happy Oscar's is here. It is something I look forward after a long day at work.
