The Bully Gorilla Bar — Restaurant in Paducah

Need age limit sign after a certain time! Everything indicates family friendly. 9 pm Sat. night after dinner, we entered BG restaurant/bar with our 7yr old and 8 other people. There was no carding at the door, no signs or reason to think a place that serves food would not allow us to come in. Having a long history of bartending and managing restaurants, we planned to be out well before 10. We were saying bye to family being deployed. Child sat at a table and was watching a phone. We intended to buy a round of drinks, maybe desert and go home. Bartender did not ask us to leave. She came out and demanded we leave very rudely. Would not listen. We were fine with leaving but her tact put everyone on defense. Had their been signs or something on line that clarified otherwise, it would have prevented the whole thing. Do better. We broke no rules or laws at 9 pm.

Thank you for you response. I have no problem with 21 and over policy. My statement was that there was nothing on the door or your site that stated that! I went to the bathroom and came out, it was done. 5 minutes tops. So there wasn't a repeated refusal to leave. Opinion was made known. I was told there was no asking, but demanded by several people. Not saying it was handled well but we were told it was a restaurant, we double checked online and examined the door/window before we entered. Make it clear so someone else does not get the wrong impression. Your site says family friendly. Don't promote that if not what you want. Again, your policy. We just wanted to say buy to my nephew after dinner, buy him a drink and get the boy home for bed. It was 9pm. Make your personal policy available to the public. We would have never went in at all. My girlfriend is from Paducah and moved up north so we occasionally come and visit her family. While we were here we decided to go out with her brother to this bar and the reviews seemed to bode well. While walking up to the bar and sitting down our bartender Mimi came up and looked at us and asked us what we wanted to drink (no menu, no "how are you all doing") I ordered a water to start while I was trying to think of what I wanted. She then went back to other patrons and was talking with them after a while of trying to decide what I wanted eventually I trying to flag her down which I know she saw because we locked eyes. She got close like she was going to listen to what I wanted to order and then immediately turned around and walked away when I started asking. Again going to other patrons chatting. When she finally did come over I ordered my food and a drink. Food was great no complaints there but our bartender's lack of service was notable which made all of use kind of feel unwanted. She spent most of her time texting and chatting with other people that were likely regulars without giving us service in a timely fashion.

When last call was announced I could barely hear her saying,"last call" and without asking us if we'd like anything else she gave us our tab while the song "Its time to go" was playing. All in all it was an uncomfortable experience and it's a shame really because it looks like a great...

The bully gorilla this is by far one of the best establishments I have gone to I am extremely proud to say people of different genders different race, different backgrounds come here and everybody got along smiled now being a bar you would think that there would be some type of altercation every time I have gone thereI leave out the front door the same way I came in in one piece . Shout out to the security team patience is all I have to say dealing with the individuals they have to deal with they carry themselves with professional mannerism and respect towards everybody it is very impressive and yes they have patience the way they carry themselves make you think twice about wanting to act a fool in there establishment.
