This place was definitely a highlight of our stay in the partner motel: a modern speakeasy with eclectic atmosphere, velvet bar stools and flamboyant wall art. The charcuterie board was not only artfully presented, but the cheeses and meats seemed fresh and artisanaly selected. It felt as this place belongs to a bigger metropolitan city like SF or NYC. The only ā€œingredientā€ that did not meet the standards were the cocktails: they were more mixed drinks then cocktails, prepared strong, but not as palatable as expected from their description. The vessels and garnishes attempted to compensate for the lack of flavor, but after 3 tried cocktails, we decided to stick with wine. We will come back however, I do believe they have a potential here if they curate the cocktails better to match the institution. Maybe measuring ingredients or inviting a mixologist? Sorry for the blunt opinion, but I am excited to try what you come up with… otherwise wine it is.

We didn't eat because we had just had dinner at a different location, but we wanted to stop in here for a drink because our friends had recommended it for exceptional cocktails and its cool, eclectic vibe. Very enjoyable. My wife had an Apricot Sour and loved it, even though she doesn't generally go for whiskey-based drinks. I had a Pagosa St Special which was also really good. The interior has a funky cool decor and the patio has a great gas fire pit which we enjoyed as the night cooled off. Planning to go back and try the charcuterie board at some point since several people recommended it. Definitely give them a try.

I loved this speakeasy lounge located at The Nightingale Motel. Seating inside and outside… many rooms for intimate gatherings. Uniquely decorated with flair! The vibe was dreamy, sultry and very cozy. Bordello chic… or should I say BARdello chic? I crack myself up. šŸ˜…šŸ˜† Cool, antique furniture in each room. Michael, the general manager, was very friendly and welcoming… As was the entire staff. Charcuterie boards and cocktails were amazing. If only it was located closer to my home. This place rocks, no wonder it is the town hotspot.

We stayed at the motel attached to the neon mallard. We loved going there for a post-dinner hangout. We were there for four days at the end of May but before Memorial Day, 2025. The drinks were great, I love the spicy margarita with the infused tequila. The drinks were quite strong each night. The service is very slow, unfortunately. One of my drinks took 17 minutes to order and then over 25 to end up at my table. One night, there was live music that I truly thought was a recording. The singer's voice was 10/10 amazing. We ordered the charcuterie board the first night we visited and ordered every offering, which I believe was between $45-$50. I was disappointed with the quality and amount of food. It felt very stingy and didn't really have any high-quality ingredients that I couldn't get from any grocery store. It would be amazing to have some local offerings on there and bigger portions for the cost. We also tried the cheesecake, which was good but nothing special or out of this world. I would love to see chocolate cake (with flour) or a brownie on the menu. The vibe makes up for any disappointments with mood lighting, good music, and cozy seating. I will update this when we return next with...

We have always loved Neon Mallard and make it a point to visit every time we’re in town. We used to rave about this place to anyone visiting, but after our recent experience, we’re incredibly disappointed.

We arrived well before closing, excited as usual, only to be met with the worst service we’ve ever experienced. As soon as we walked in, we were told they were doing last call—which is fine—but then they made it nearly impossible for us to even order a drink. Despite multiple open bar seats, we were told we had to find a table to be served, yet every table already had at least two people, and they wouldn’t allow us to move any chairs. It was clear they were trying to discourage us from ordering.

Thankfully, another group noticed what was happening and graciously gave up their seats for us. Otherwise, it seems we wouldn’t have even been allowed to enjoy a drink.

We understand places get busy and staff may want to wrap up for the night, but the way we were treated was unacceptable. It’s disappointing to see the atmosphere and service decline like this. We’ll be rethinking whether it’s worth coming back...

Great drinks, ok service. Took the waitress 15 minutes to take our drink order and never checked on us even though there were only 6 groups there and 2 of them were at the bar. Went in on a slower Saturday and bartenders were talking about a bar fight that took place a few days earlier resulting in someone getting their head stomped in near the hotel rooms and the police searching for them. Not really great vibe considering we were staying at the hotel. Bachelorette party came in and offered VIP room but left. After staff was talking negatively about them even though they were losing out on tips. Loved the hotel and the bar, but after hearing that story and the other service don't know if we'd go back. Paid extra to stay here and loved the accommodations, but as a career hospitality worker, it left much to be desired. Had drinks Sunday night as well and had a much better experience, but can't for the life of me figure out why people working tipped jobs would be discussing these things in front of the customers...
