My family decided to come and explore this town on a recommendation from my husbands friend. We weren’t really sure what to expect but and prepared to get in some water possibly. When we got there we found a spot to get into the water that also had a hot spring which was really cool. However the water was running so fast that we couldn’t let our 2 and 5 yr old go in for fear they’d get taken away. Didn’t know that you can rent inner tubes and float down the river. We did end up finding a slower moving area that the boys were able to go in a get wet. Cannot wait...
Read moreThis town park doesn't have much of a park but it does have a nice walking/bike path that runs along the San Juan river. It is a great place to park and then walk back up Hot Springs boulevard if you have your own tubes (bought from local Walmart on the cheap!) You can park here and then walk with your tube (about a 10 minute walk). Get in at the main bridge and then enjoy a really fun tube ride back. It has a few little rapids to keep it interesting and a number of places to stop along the way if you want to get out and relax or the kids want to play. A lot of fun...
Read moreThis park is a beautiful green space in the town of Pagosa Springs. The park is adjacent to the San Juan River. It's really cool that a river runs right through this park.
There's a footbridge in Town Park, so you can walk right over the river. That's really fun, and it's safe because no motorized vehicles or horses are allowed to use the bridge.
There's a playground in the park, and a Little Free Library! There are also picnic tables and bear-proof trash cans present.
This park is a really wonderful, beautiful place...
