My mother-in-law said her co-workers were raving about this place and their 회덮밥 sashimi rice (kind of like a poke bowl) so for dinner we went and bought 2 orders. My husband really likes 멍게 (sea squirt) 덮밥 rice so we asked for 1 sashimi rice and 1 with sea squirt. I don't really like sea squirt because it's always very fishy in my opinion. This is not a dine in restaurant. There is a bench where you can wait. We went and got some beverages and our order was ready in about 15 minutes. They offer delivery for orders over $50.
When we got home we had high expectations but found that the bowls were lacking in veggies and sea squirt. They did give a lot of fresh sashimi though. They also did not provide any sesame oil but my mother-in-law said her friends said they normally do. I hope this was just an oversight because sesame oil just elevates the dish to another level. It's ok since we had some at home. They provided rice and what appeared to be udon soup. They also provided some pickled veggies for the side.
My husband plans on getting lunch there with his co-worker. I think 15 bucks is a really good deal for the sashimi rice. Sea squirt might be an acquired taste. The three of us ate and were full from two orders. We will...
Read moreI recently put up a rather very negative review about a sushi place in Fort Lee and I had to mention this off the wall place in Pal Park. It's more towards the route 46 which takes'em out from main drag and I wasn't expecting a lot. I am very fair when reviewing and i just have to sound the horn for this well deserved place. Very hot day and wifey just got back from golf outing exausted and did not want to see her cooking even a ramyon. 25 pice assorted sushi for $50.00 doesn't allow too much expectation. Boy was I wrong! Great quality and oversized fish assortments that are draping down on rather small size rice which you only can see in a pricy 3 star and up places (see the picture!) And I'll say pretty good assortments as well. It even had eels! All in all, 5 and a half star for their generous marketing concept where they gave enough sides with no sign of trying to skimp!! This is now my go-to spot for sushi craving! So good, wifey was comparing to omakase we had over the weekend which was way pricier. Thaaaank you Broad...
Read moreJudging by the reviews, I can only assume there are multiple sushi chefs. I got a platter for Thanksgiving and this was by far the worst sushi I have ever had in my life. Maybe because they were so busy that they used up all the freshest ingredients? Maybe there are multiple chefs? Whatever the case is, this was trash. The "miso soup" was absolutely disgusting. Incredibly watered down. Literally zero flavor. The sushi tasted old/frozen not fresh at all. The best part of the entire platter was the soy sauce. Not even good soy sauce just some cheap off brand kind. 100+ dollars for absolute garbage. I'll be more than happy to change the review if I'm given actual...
