Ice Cream Hut of Palm Bay — Restaurant in Palm Bay

I’ve tried this place several times and seems like each time I go the service is somehow worse. There’s an elderly pair of people that care about the customers and their experiences and have been pleasant all around. But when they aren’t there it’s apparent that the more experienced staff members don’t fully train the younger, less experienced staff. My experience tonight consisted of my boyfriend and I ordering two small soft serve ice cream, on sugar cones, dipped in our choice of hard shell. A younger male employee that got my boyfriend’s cone had no issue until it came to the dip. He told one of the experienced employees that was scooping hard ice cream that he didn’t know how and she shot back a look at him and told him to basically “just do it” which he did. He then proceeded to make a mess all over his hands and ended up shoving the cone into a small cup while it was still dripping. All while the experienced employee was looking at us and then the cone that he had served and said nothing. A younger female employee got my ice cream on the cone and I guess it fell over? She then opened the top of the soft serve machine and dumped the ice cream back in and tried again. She also didn’t know how to put the dip on the cone and the two more experienced employees did nothing to help her. The young man then took the cone from her and said “I’m not even going to try”, put it in a cup and just poured the hard shell on missing half of the ice cream and it pooled at the bottom and that’s what I was served. The soft serve was fine enough and so was the dip but it’s very apparent that the employees don’t get trained properly and the more experienced employees don’t care enough to help when they see their peers struggling. I honestly don’t know if we’ll come back because it doesn’t seem worth it. Honestly I’d rather just go to Del’s because they know what they’re doing and the employees seem far more useful...

The store is very clean and bright lit. I felt bad making a mess all over the cleaning tables and floor so kept trying to clean it as I went.

I ordered the cotton candy explosion. That was pretty boss, Definitely picture worthy. The ice cream itself had a very buttery rich flavor and texture to it. I honestly say that it's better than with some people sell as frozen custard at the fast food spot.

I look forward to going back and trying different versions of milkshakes without all the candy just because I like the ice cream so much. All the overflowing candy was definitely worth the cost but not something I'd buy every time. I'll try to bring my nieces here 1 day.

The owners are the ones running the counters so I always love an owner operated business. They were friendly talkative and as helpful as can be.

I highly recommend everyone tries this type of ice cream at least once. It's definitely not soft serve, it's definitely not fast food, Unlike the big arches there are ice cream machine is always working and ready to sell 32 something flavors...

I came in today around 830 ish with my two girls. Walked in and it seemed very clean and nice.. upon speaking with staff the older lady and gentlemen were very kind and gave off family vibes. The man at the register was very nice and patient with me as it was my girls and I first time. It was slightly confusing at first but they walk u thru it. After asking prices and getting our ice cream the prices just did not add up correctly I may have been confused however I feel that I was mis charged and nothing was done to help I automatically was in the wrong which is utterly not fair. This was suppose to be a great treat(which it still is despite the mischarge that I still paid for that should have been corrected) I don't think I will be going back again. It upsets me how malevolent people can be... in this day of age you cannot trust anyone. Money is hard to earn it truly is.... however God bless all and this establishment it's filled with great people but when it comes down to explaining I think a re train...
