AVOID- I came with a friend yesterday for Sunday morning brunch for the first time here. I ordered an Omelette and he had scrambled eggs. Both of our eggs were overcooked. I didn't want the hashbrown's that came with the $15 omelette so I had to pay an extra $2.49 for fries. I have never been to a breakfast place where fries are not included. I then asked if $2.49 was the price of a side of fries and the waitress said no and said thats just the upcharge because a side of fries cost $6. $6? I don't think I could find a restaurant in Palm Beach charging $6 for a side of fries even if I tried. Better yet, the cost of fries is more than orange juice! Orange juice is only $4 here but speaking of OJ, my friend ordered a large and the waitress came back with a kids-sized cup that you could finish in 3 sips. Now the price of the OJ compared to the amount is reasonable, however, if someone orders a large there should be an option for a larger glass, not the largest size being a kids-sized glass.
Additionally, we came to realize after receiving the check that we were charged $3 for cream cheese. In my 22 years of living and in my friend's 44, we have never seen, heard of, or been charged for cream cheese as that's automatic to be included with a bagel just like syrup with pancakes which I wouldn't be surprised if this restaurant also charges for. I brought up the charge to the waitress and explained to her since that its unheard of to be charged for creamcheese, we should have been told before getting charged just incase we would have gotten butter instead. She insinuated that there are other places that also charge for cream-cheese which is very hard to believe, and that it should have been known. She then offered to bring the manager over only AFTER she charged both of our cards.
If we had decent scenery and excellent service to make up for the charges then that's one thing; I know restaurants in nice areas such as downtown or on the beach have higher prices than normal but we were also sitting in a poor spot staring at a fire hydrant.
EDIT: I forgot to add to my review the quality of the bagels. They tasted like they were bought from Walmart; the quality was very poor. I asked for the bagel to not be toasted and it was toasted anyway because the waitress said it was cold from being in the fridge. If that's the case it could be microwaved for a few seconds, either way, definitely a must to change the bagels here.
I didn't just "take off", I told the waitress there was no need for someone to come speak with me as I didn't want to cause a scene with other people nearby hearing me complain, but also because the complaint should come before charging our cards. I also can confirm that indeed I spoke with you over the phone however I asked for your email address as I was driving and would also rather have more time to remember everything I needed to say; not that you asked if I had an issue anyway. I didn't make a complaint to staff about how the food was cooked as I did not get the chance and didn't want to wait around forever as I was starving. You are also making it seem like the quality of your fries is amazing which I can assure you they are bought frozen from Walmart. I go to Einstein bagels a lot, you are given the price of a bagel with cream cheese, there is no combo like at a breakfast place such as yours. No real breakfast/cafe restaurant charges extra for cream cheese. I normally would have been surprised at your response but after seeing the way you respond to other customers it makes sense as you look at our reviews as hate and derogatory whereas its helpful feedback and suggestions to help you guys improve. If I was not deeply disappointed in my experience here yesterday I wouldn't have spent my time writing this review as I have better things to do on a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSara's Kitchen offered a vibrant brunch experience. The restaurant was bustling, filled with an energetic atmosphere and a quirky, diner-inspired decor. We were fortunate to be seated immediately by the friendly host, as the venue was otherwise fully occupied. Our server arrived promptly, offering menus and taking drink orders. The fresh orange juice, a popular choice among our party, was indeed freshly squeezed and delivered quickly. The menu was extensive, presenting a wide array of brunch options. I opted for the Boston Skillet, customizing it to my preferences. The homemade corned beef hash was a highlight, though I would have appreciated a slightly higher quantity of diced onions. The scrambled eggs were cooked well, though a touch more salt would have enhanced their flavor. My two friends chose the Turkey Skillet, which they thoroughly enjoyed, sharing their positive feedback. However, we were surprised by the sharing dish fee, a practice that felt out of place in the current economic climate. Thankfully, our server helpfully suggested ordering a side dish to circumvent this charge, which my friends did. The pancakes served were light and airy, meeting expectations. However, the lack of complimentary maple syrup was an odd oversight, as it was offered as an extra. Our server was efficient and courteous, though not particularly memorable. Overall, Sara's Kitchen delivered a satisfying brunch experience. The food was generally well-prepared and flavorful, and the energetic ambiance contributed positively. While the sharing fee and the extra charge for syrup were minor drawbacks, the quality of the food and the prompt service made it a worthwhile visit. I would recommend Sara's Kitchen for a lively and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter I had three hour pregnancy blood work done I was exhausted and hungry. I googled pancakes near me and this place came up. We stopped here on the way to my house, it is not close to where I live. When I got home I realized that they gave me an order of Mounds pancakes with coconut, which I am allergic to, instead of the Elvis pancakes I ordered. I was emotional, upset, and cried, throwing the pancakes away. (I am pregnant and crying happens sometimes). I emailed them to let them know what happened, wanting just an apology and an acknowledgement of their error. Instead I was sent an email stating the hostess stated I asked about the two different types of pancakes and that I had ordered the mound. How does that make sense? Why would I order something I am allergic to? I never asked about them, my mother and I ordered the things we wanted, no questions asked at all. Mistakes happen, I was initially going to leave it as an email and let it go, but to be accused of ordering something and have the blame put on me is not acceptable. The hostess is trying to push the blame onto someone else to get herself out of trouble and the management is then pushing the blame onto me the customer. That is where my main issue is with this place. There was an attempt to placate me with the offer of a free meal, but no mention of acknowledgment of their error, just a statement about the error being mine. That is not a way to run a business. We won't be returning. In the future if I have to have blood work done I will just go to the Nook, even if it is farther away, as that restaurant puts customer first, not protecting the mistakes of employees by blaming...
