Firehouse Subs Desert Gateway Center — Restaurant in Palm Desert

First person (short guy with a lot of beard) spoke with, didn’t seem to want to be at work and you surely can’t expect a smile. My first question, if I get the turkey ranch do I have to have ranch. He said no. I ordered my sandwich NO RANCH… waited patiently. While waiting a couple came in and ordered. They walked to the other side of counter where food will come out. The man’s card didn’t clear and instead of going and telling him he decided to yell across the place so others can hear that the man’s card didn’t clear. That wasn’t enough so the guy making sandwich’s said it even louder, hey there is an issue with payment over there. That is so rude if you ask me. Why make someone feel like that? No common courtesy anymore. Anyway, my food comes out with hot pepper ranch as I asked for it not to have! I saw as I was taking and informed them I ask for no ranch. They took it back and made the couples food instead of mine to get them out the door and I had to wait much long than I should have. When you make a mistake on the first customers food, fix that first as you’ve now delayed them who could be on a lunch break. Our customer service has just gradually declined that most people don’t even have those skills anymore and the companies don’t care. Gonna have to not treat myself out anymore to avoid this terrible service. Go get a job you actually like if it’s that hard for...

This is my favorite place to get subs. Maybe not everyone's, as their subs are very different than the standard fare you find at Subway, but I think they are great. The "Club on a Sub" is especially tasty. I enjoy the firemen-themed decor and the fact that they contribute profits to fire prevention related charities.

This is surely the greatest place to go if you are a fan of hot sauce. They have a selection of forty or fifty different sauces to choose from that you can put on your sub at no additional cost, plus a tasty "house" sauce they make themselves. If you like any of them they have unopened bottles available for purchase that you can take home.

To top it off, they have one of those great Coke machines that lets you basically get any flavor of Coke product you want. As of the time of this writing they are not very common, so it's always a great bonus to my visit. Want caffeine free diet cherry vanilla...

You arrive at 8:30 to find two employees acting as if you are more of an inconvenience than a valued customer. After taking 10 minutes to make a single sandwich they inform you that the " Dining Area" is closed even though the store doesn't close till 9:00 so you can not sit down and eat your sandwich. You take all this in stride until you find an outside table in the cold and bite into the sandwich which reminds you of the old Wendy's commercial "Where's the Beef" and onions and everything else you would consider being part of a sandwich. Traveling between Anaheim and Phoenix without eating since this morning you look forward to a good sandwich so good thing I see the Golden Arches of McDonalds.
