IHOP — Restaurant in Rancho Mirage

Been here a few times recently and the foods always pretty decent but I always ate outside. Came here about 6pm recently and ate inside. Place needs a bit of TLC. Ceiling has a lot of dust and stains on the tiles, mens restroom has tons of graffiti etched in all over the place. Were barely any customers there and it took almost 10 minutes to be seated.

Stop seating different groups right next to eachother when you have plenty of clean empty tables. Not sure if its an Ihop policy or something but has happened at other ihops too where when its slow and they have plenty of tables, they want to seat every group right next to each other. Stop doing that. People generally don't want to sit right next to another group of strangers while they eat in this day and age, especially after covid. If you have space, spread em out. Now that I think about it about 3 years ago I ate inside here one evening and they had plenty of tables, they tried to sit us right next to another group that was already there. Please stop. I genuinely don't know one person that would prefer to sit next to a bunch of strangers while they ate instead of having their own...

My husbands order was complete warm not hot.

I ordered 2 eggs over med; please check to see the whites are done, w/crispy bacon on over 55 menu & English muffin buttered and toasted.

4 cups of coffee later I asked where my food might be (at least 20 min wait after our order) when the food arrived the eggs were not done the bacon was not crispy and the muffin was not buttered, jelly basket had two jelly's to choose strawberry or strawberry.

My waiter never came back to ask if everything was ok. We asked for a mgr & she came by and apologized for everything, (including the Mess in our isle due to a child throwing up). Took our bill and we waited again. We finally got up and went to the cashier and the Mgr came back and took 20% off our entire bill. How generous.

Big mistake, I know you are having Mgr changes, why I don't know all was good before, now the services is awful and the management is worse. Will not be seeing me back anytime soon.

Ordered online and came in for a pickup. Was greeted by a "Zeus" name on name tag. Politely stated I was there for a pickup. Was spoken to very rudely without provocation and Zeus stated to me that they were slammed. I was very surprised by this response and waited patiently to be served. Another man came and I again politely explained that I was there for my online pickup. I inquired why was the previous gentleman so rude and this person replied with the same answer we are slammed. I was very surprised to get these responses and even more surprised to see not even half the house full. Professionals shouldn't be complaining and being rude to a customer because of the perceived workload. I shouldn't even know what they think about how busy it is or is not. Just service with a smile.
