Rancho Mirage Dog Park — Attraction in Rancho Mirage

I love this Dog Park! Our gated community has it's own "Private Dog Park"; however, there is never any running, wrestling or butt sniffing going on because most of the dog-parents I've run into just wanted to throw the ball to their dog & play with just their dog & have the dog play solely with them. I live very close to another Dog Park; however, I've had a few occasions with people not controlling their dog (s) and their five, yes 5, dogs on top of my Beagle until I got in the mix or blatantly ignoring it when their dog goes pooh, not picking it up. I discovered just down the street from my doctor is the Rancho Mirage Dog Park. Newer materials, fabric looking shades strung up high, a sand pit, I saw a dog digging in sand pit & he was in his heaven. My doctor is up the street from there & I always want to bring my dog along with me to my Doctor's appointment; however, I think there's a law against that 🐕 & I don't think the wonderful Doctor would appreciate it. I met a nice lady who like myself could go to a closer one; however, the Rancho Mirage Dog Park I find well worth the 10-15 minute...

I've always thought this was the nicest, cleanest dog park until today. I've been bringing my dog here for many years and never had an issue (although I have seen a few). Today he and I were walking laps as we do and he was socializing with other dogs. There were three Great Danes and one went after him a little bit and he got defensive (not biting but he seemed scared). This man in a lime green tank top and dingy grey shorts (very tan with short grey hair and glasses) started yelling at me about "three altercations in two minutes with your dog". Two women were watching (great dane owners) and made no effort to defend me. My dog did nothing wrong and this man went on to verbally assault me in front of them. He is a worthless P.O.S. I probably won't return because of this. Shame on you, you little excuse for a man. And shame on those women for standing idly by... I would've thought you'd have my back. 🤬 Watch out...

My dog and I visited the Rancho Mirage dog park for the first time yesterday afternoon and I was extremely impressed by the size by the cleanliness by the Comforts for the dogs and also by the people that were there, taking interest in their dogs and making sure that they were all behaving well together.
