The food is good. The service is just meh. We come here quite often & only return because the food. But last nigh March 1, 2017... there was a problem with my food... as soon as my plate arrive in plain site the was a strand of HAIR!!! I'm so luck to have spotted it as soon as the waitress set it on the table. It took me a moment to get her attention, which is odd considering the resturant is a small establishment. When i told her she seemed to not have believed me and really had to examine it before she even took the plate, the hair was right on top of the side of beans. While she examined the plate i asked to have another plate to put the burrito on juat so I can eat that. But she ignored me took it to the back, i heard them discussing it in spanish of course, and she told me they threw it away & were going to make me a new one. I didn't want that. I was fine with just the burrito but she didnt even care and just went on about her bussiness. So about 10 to 15 mins later i finally recive my plate. I definitely inspect it first. Towards the end i asked her to recive some type of percentage off but she seemed annoyed with my request, but gave it to me anyway. My husband was upset and didn't even want to leave her a tip, but since I am a waitress myself we left her one anyway. We love the food here, not the service. That's the only reason return, but now we will check our food...
Read moreI come here all the time because I love the food . My favorite is chicken Minerva burrito, I love their red and green sauce. The amount of food is good as well. The only complaint I have about this place is the servers are always busy or ignores side request easily. I go there for food that’s about it. They are very careful with napkins and it is uncomfortable to keep asking while they are busy taking other clients. It is a small restaurant but usually there are 1-2 server at most. Also to note they also charge extra fee if you are using credit card. The price of food have changed over years and it’s getting pricier each time. But I still go there because I just love their burrito and chips and salsa. They have good margaritas too. I wish they have more non alcoholic drinks besides Jamaica and soda. Other than that over the years I have learned to carry cash so I don’t pay extra on my food. I like to leave good tip if they do good service but since most of the times they really are not customer focused I feel like do they deserve it for not attending to customers? But then the cooks are doing their jobs well. And I do go there more than often. So for a quick food and close by other stores , it’s a nice place to have drink and I suggest anyone going there to try Minerva...
Read moreBest ground beef period... trust me, try it. If you normally order a cheese enchilada, try getting one cheese and one ground beef. Just try it, you won't be disappointed.
The service is a little hit n miss. We love the owner who happens to be there very frequently.
Trust me though when I say, the food makes up for it. Manage your expectations. They're short staffed like everywhere. Hang in there. Be nice, and enjoy the food.
As I said anything with their signature ground beef is sure to wow you. I also love the cheese enchiladas. I typically get red sauce but their green sauce is very savory, flavorful and delicious.
1 key thing I enjoy about their Combos, is that one of the selectable items is a wet style mi I burrito. Try the ground beef ;)
Anywho. The Sopas are delicious as well. A little crispy, a little crunchy, a little chewy... so good.
Coupled with fresh lettuce and ingredients etc and you've got food that not only keeps us coming back, but has me craving it from time to time.
Definitely come here. This will be without a doubt the best Mexican in the desert (food wise). If you're looking for atmosphere and gimmicks then yeah, go to terrazza or Armandos. But if you want truly delicious good, come...
