When we got to Giuseppe's, everything seemed chill at first. The server, this woman with short blond hair and glasses, was super helpful in the beginning. We told her a bunch of times about our pork allergy, and she seemed to get it. She even went through the whole menu with us and kept going back to the kitchen to double-check. In the end, she suggested a few dishes, and we decided on a pasta and a pizza with chicken. We started eating, and after a while, we didn't feel well. We asked her about it, and at first, she acted clueless and went back to the kitchen. We had trusted her recommendations and what she was saying because she knew we did not want pork. Then she came back and said, "Oh yeah, it's pork" and we were shocked and confused. We were so mad. We asked for the manager, thinking they'd take it seriously, but nope. They apologized loosely like it was no big deal. She also said, "If you need to go the hospital, let us know what happens tomorrow, we're open from 4 to something but for now, we'll take the pasta off your bill." We were speechless by how unserious they were taking that. Then eventually the owner came over, and things got even worse. Instead of owning up to it, he actually tried to blame us, saying we should've known what pancetta was. Like if their server didn't know what it was, how did he expect us to? He kept laughing and smiling about it. I was literally complaining about this situation and he kept cutting me off with sarcastic remarks.
Meanwhile, the staff in the back were laughing like this was all some kind of joke. The owner kept trying to make it seem like we were overreacting, and when we said we didn't think we should pay for this (considering now things were handled) and he said, "Of course you don't." As if all of this is just to not pay when everybody is very aware we spent a lot of time with our server to ensure there's no pork from the time we got there. That little response said a lot about his character, how he runs his business and how that reflects on his staff.
It was honestly one of the worst dining experiences l've had. Getting treated like this over something as serious as a food allergy was just awful. They didn't care at all, and it was so disrespectful. Don't recommend...
Read moreThe place is great except the hostess’, the kitchen, and THE MANAGER. They don’t care how you order your pizza. If it’s wrong, they say “we can’t promise anything”. It’s absolutely crazy!! I asked them to NOT CUT MY PIZZA IS 30 little uneven slices and to cut it into 8 slices, yet they can honor that simple request. All the cheese was sitting in the middle of the pizza and the edges had nothing. This has happened to me over 5 times already. I eat there on average twice a week and rarely get pizza for this exact reason. Except tonight I was craving pizza. As of tonight, I called and reported it to the manager, AGAIN! I was hoping that he would have treated me like he does in the restaurant with respect and like a valued customer. Instead he was very hostile, rude, and suggested I go else where if I want my pizza the way I want it. After simply telling him that I paid for something and didn’t receive it the way I ordered it he said again, “I can’t guarantee anything”. I said next time I won’t take the pizza and won’t pay. The manager said “I will take it back and you will still have to pay for the pizza no matter how it came out, even it you didn’t order it that way.”
While I am at it, I was there last week when a lady fell RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOSTESS STAND and passed out. She almost fell on my table as I was sitting at the table next to the front doors. I called 911 because every waiter and the 2 hostess just stood there and walked away. They could have cared less! After this, I will not be going back. I hope the owners see this and at the very least talk to the employees because the food is really good. Except when it doesn’t come the way you’re ordered and paid for! And I can guarantee you...
Read moreIt was a dark and stormy night… One couple’s epic tale of hunger, hope and redemption: My wife and I decided to brave the Great Valentine’s Day Storm of 2023. It was raining sideways. The wind was howling. Big metal garbage cans chased cars down the slick street. The windshield wipers were mediocre at best. Did I mention how dark it was? It was very dark. Without a reservation, we were taking a terrible chance. But it was either that, or take out. We knew we had no choice. We had to find good Italian food, and we had to find it soon. With our fuel low, and our hopes fading we coasted into Giuseppe’s parking lot. Our host, Joe, met us at the door and one look at our drawn, desperate faces was all he needed to spring into action. These people clearly needed hot lasagna and they needed it now! Without an available seat inside our host hatched a plan so daring, so improbable, the staff could barely believe it. He led us to the covered outdoor patio and surrounded us with propane heaters, cranking them as high as they would go, without the slightest pause for his own personal safety. Once seated, his crack team sprang into action. Chianti Classico appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Not some wimpy little glass, but the full 8 1/2 ouncer! And before Dionne Warwick began to fade on the speakers delicious, piping hot lasagna and French bread was lovingly laid before us and shown like a Christmas star on that darkened night. Valentine’s Day was saved! And the red velvet cake with gelato was a nice finishing touch too. I guess what I’m trying to say is…I...
