Guanatos Tacos & Bar — Restaurant in Palmdale

Las night 3/7/25 at 7:30pm I took one of great friends to this place because I had been here a few times when it was under the prior owner/name and had a great experiences BUT NOT THIS time. 🚩Right when we sat down I noticed they were serving in “to go aluminum plates” YES THE ONE THAT COME WITH THE CLEAR TOPS. I said ok ok maybe the food is good. I love supporting my community and local restaurants. 🚩 We ordered 2- orders of oysters on the shell at $14.50 each and a birria plate with beans and rice with 2 non-alcoholic drinks. Once our food arrives, in tin plates, I asked the waitress for tapatío, limes and salt…. She come back with tapatío, a few lime pieces and 🚩“”salt packs!”” I said.. can I please get a salt shaker? She said sorry we don’t have those, I reply.. you serve mariscos “with marisco prices” and no salt shakers? No plates? With plastic utensils? I’m like ok… unbelievable.I still decide to make the best of it and enjoy my night and catch up with my friend. I had my first oyster with salt lime, tapatío and it was good, had another and it was good, the 🚩third oyster was AWFUL! Like chewy sewage! ! I literally puked on/in the tin plate. was not just disgusted BUT embarrassed because we were sitting between two groups AND I couldn’t help what I had just done. The waitress saw my face from afar and walked over right away. I told her the oysters are no good to please take the two orders back. She was kind and apologized and they walked back with the manager and she then apologized. I explained that I LOVE OYSTERS and I know when they are bad, and that 3rd oyster can definitely kill somebody. She continue to apologize and ask if I wanted to replace it with another meal I said no thank you my appetite is gone. We still sat there to talk and catch up, my friend enjoyed her birria rice and bean that were mediocre to her. I asked for the bill and they still billed me for one of the oyster orders, the nice waitress explained that the manager was 🚩only going to credit me for the untouched order but NOT for the one I had eaten from. I stood up to go speak to the manager and she explained that the kitchen crew told her I ate all six oysters of one of the orders. Clearly, now it’s my word against theirs because they took AND emptied both plates. I told her exactly what I ate and that I’m not there to rip off anybody for $30, on the contrary I love supporting local spot and I make time for reviews on great experiences and also for horrible experiences. I don’t waste time on reviews for mediocre placed because I understand it’s tough running a business, overhead is expensive, food prices are expensive, customer service is a very difficult balance etc. However this definitely was one of the worse experiences, “”I had a bad oyster in my mouth!!”” therefore I was gonna make time for this review. I will make sure it goes on yelp and my social media platforms. I will give that “building” another chance when the next owner opens up because this business won’t be there much longer unfortunately. . The AV has a few gems 🙌and I’m great a finding them and letting people know about them, I fill tables and make sure to let my friends know about great places as well as awful places. Most are mediocre and won’t get any energy from me for reviews let alone negative reviews. But when you are serving spoiled, contaminated or bad food and on top get treated like you are trying to rip em off for $30 while getting served in to-go tin plates, plastic utensils, and salt packs…. I will definitely make time to inform the health dept, BBB, yelp, google and all my social media platforms. Thank you for...

Ok I was so going to give this place 1star at first but then I was like it’s all over all the service! From when I walk in I was greeted with a smile ask how was I! How was my day? By the Host! Then all went down hill when she sat us down me and my wife and kids our waitress Ana was her name I think?! No smile! No ask how were we? No nothing! Just said what can I get for u?! And keep saying what else? ! I felt so rushed to order and then our food took 25 mins to get to us! I would understand if it was busy but it was not! The whole time she was just chatting behind the bar with a coworker with a blue shit not once ask if we needed anything or refills only came back with dam check! No good! The whole time I would hear and see the host sitting people down and asking them how r they and smile and after she would sit them would walk back to her station and still smile and would say hi to people mean while everyone in the back behind the bar just staring at people not doing anything! When we left we saw the host cleaning the menus first time I see anywhere where someone takes the time to clean meuns! Overall I would give this place a 4star just for the host! Horrible place they charged us for two extra rainbow shots after explaining to them we didn’t order it they refuse to remove it from our bill. Our bill was over 500 dollars they could have gain our service for next time but won’t go again. When I told them to let me know who order that she couldn’t tell me when I asked what waitress took that order she couldn’t answer that either. Because we didn’t order it. They don’t respect you and pass judgement and look down because you had a few drinks but not enough for them to over charge us. Am sure they done this before and will continue to do this.
