We've stayed here before and it was OK. On this trip, the hotel was undergoing a major remodel. Check in was at the back door and took 15 minutes, even though we were the only ones in line. When we got to the room, we turned on the heat. The heat came on but, when the thermostat registered the correct temperature, the AC came on. We tested it a couple of times, with the same results. We called maintenance - the gentleman who came said that the system was working correctly. After he left, we tried it again with, again, the same results. Another call to maintenance - the gentleman was busy transporting food to a party so he couldn't show up. Another gentleman did show up and he wasn't sure if it was working correctly or not. At this point, Daniel, who checked us in, moved us to another room. Lo and behold - it had the same type of thermostat but the heater worked properly. Unfortunately, now that we had the heating working, we checked out the bed. Having just had back surgery the day before, I was prepared for the regular HI beds and not for the new beds that are quite a bit higher off the floor. A short person will have problems getting into bed. At any rate, we went to sleep finally but, when I had to get up to use the bathroom, the occupancy sensors went to work, first the one over the sink across from the bathroom and then the one in the bathroom itself. It's impossible for anyone to get up in the middle of the night without waking up anyone else in the room - what a concept. This about sums up our not-so-wonderful night at the Holiday Inn in Lancaster.
Note - it appears as though all of the Holiday Inns are putting in the higher beds. It makes no sense to me. I'm a tall person but anyone who is shorter or who has back or hip problems is going to have problems getting...
Read moreHere on business, I have stayed for a total of 6 weeks now and have been extremely pleased with my experience. Among many, the number one highlight of my stay was, hands down, the 'consistent' customer service. This entire staff, not only saw to every request I had, but went above and beyond by anticipating my needs. They were warm and friendly, always smiling and they have a way of 'genuinely' making me feel that they're happy to see me. I could easily say something unique and positive about every staff member, but I'll shorten to a few who really stood out to me......... Heather at the front desk is so kind and helpful and truly a joy to speak with, Corina in the Restaurant always asked me about my night or weekend and had my breakfast to-go box in hand so I could head right out for work (A thank you to the fantastic Chef by the way), Terry in Maintenance went to great lengths for me when I was having problems with my laptop connection in the room; he even went as far as to try an extension AND take me to their neighboring hotel on the property to double check if it was an outlet issue in the building. I have never seen so many employees cater to the guest to such an extent. Last but not least, Kimberly in Marketing has done an outstanding job making sure I had everything I needed and that I was well taken care of by the staff. What a lovely stay this was; there's no doubt I would return if ever in the area....... especially for the EXTREMELY soft towels and generous shower pressure (we all know that's rare in hotels!) . Thank you to everyone for making a hotel stay, a home! -Long Beach...
Read moreI am an essential worker. Booked this hotel because it is close to Hospital and I have been a loyal member of Holiday inn for a long time. Rate was pretty good too. First thing when I came to hotel. It was well equipped with 2
bath towels and 2 soaps as it should be. Since I work in hospital, I take shower twice a day. In morning before going to work and then I came back, use the same towel that I used in morning and then put it for wash. Over my stay, towels were never replaced. I only use 1 side of the bed so bed was made daily but there were no disposable or glass glasses for water and drinks. I used the ice bucket for ice and used the sanitary “lining” for sanitary use of ice bucket and then left it open signifying “need” for new lining for next day use. Sadly when I came back, there was no more Sanitary lining available and Keeping the health I’d custodian in mind, I had already thrown away the previous lining, rendering use of ice bucket useless. Neither I got disposable glasses after I used the “cup” provided for coffee nor were coffee cup replaced with new ones. I reported the problem to manager Mr William (first name) who said he would leave a note for management.
I got 2-3 disposable cups but the quality of all of them was so bad that they would have “stain” by the morning.
I would have assumed the cleaning of room was skipped because if COVID 19 but room was entered and patch up tidied up daily.
I hoped this was problem with just this stay, giving benefit of doubt To the hotel but it happened all over again in my next...
