Steve''s was recommended by a neighbor as we both prefer Silica style pizza. I just gave it a try, being told to ask for the pie to be "well done" to experience a crispy crust. The red sauce was ordered and 1/2 regular and the other have Spinach & Ricotta. The crust was fine. Not airy, dense or thick. It was good but nothing more or less than some other sicilian crusts I've had. The red sauce wasn't acidic, salty or bad tasting but honestly it was blandish.....didn't have a taste that I could say.....Oh.....this is good/unique........unfortunately it is forgettable. The cheese was light, not thick but wasn't bad tasting. Overall, the travel time to Steve''s is NOT worth the trip for me. The owner being behind the counter who rang me up had a very stiff, stern personality, no smile, no welcoming attitude. Same as with other customers so I didn't take offense. Not rude but hello!......you depend on customers. I won't be returning and keep looking for that really good Silician pie I know exists...
Read moreI Had probably 3 dozen people tell me that I needed to get to Steve’s pizza in Easton because it was going to be best Sicilian I’ve ever had. Steve’s is not the best Sicilian I’ve ever had. It’s honestly not even close.
I appreciated that the pizza was very clean and fresh tasting. The sauce was of low acidity and the crust had a little snap to it. The flavor however was pretty flat. I enjoy tasting basil and garlic in the sauce, I didn’t get much of either. The sauce also could have used a bit more salt to bring out the other flavors.
The small Sicilian was 6 smaller slices and was in the low teens for cost. Barely any interaction with the staff so I can’t say whether they were friendly or not.
I grew up in Brooklyn and could grab Sicilian from L&B Spumoni Gardens (amongst other places) anytime I wanted so if this was to the THE BEST I’ve ever had, it had to really be a strong pizza. It wasn’t bad by any means but after that build up, it didn’t stand up...
Read moreWe made a quick decision to dine at Steve’s tonight. We were seated and handed menus. About 10 minutes later, our drink order was taken. As we sat another 15 minutes waiting for the waitress to take our orders, in came two moms with a bunch of kids. Let me tell you, the server ignored every other table to serve them drinks, salads, and bread, then started to take their orders. I figured if she was fine ignoring us, I had the right to ask another server if they were busy. Since she told me no, I asked if she could take our order. The original server finally had an interest in waiting on us. Then she had the nerve to say to us the other table was only given bread and salads. Don’t bother dining in as new customers; you’ll be sitting there all night waiting. Not to mention we ordered (3) orders of rice balls and were only given one. Btw, I was a server in my younger years so I’m very sympathetic and tip very well! Unfortunately, she was given the tip...
