We visit Vegas often from NJ. We always do fine dining. After hearing such good things about Gallagher's, we decided to make a reservation. I can't begin to tell you how disappointing our experience was. We were seated at our designated time. Our server Kana was a very nice person but inattentive and dismissive. He did not introduce himself . He was kurt. Came up to our table and asked if we were ready to order. Not the usual, hello or welcome. I had to ask for his name. He did not ask us if it was our first time dining here or if we had any questions about the menu. The runners did all the work. My husband ordered the new england clam chowder which he enjoyed. It came out right away. The bread was ok. After an hour waiting, Kana never came over once. I politely asked another server if he could ask Kana to come over. He said he would but never did. Ten minutes later I had to stand up and flag him down as it was the first time we had seen him since we placed our order. I told him it's been over an hour and if he could check on our food. He did so. He came back a few minutes later and said 5 mins which turned into 15 min. I ordered the chicken dish. It was a big portion. Very good and lots of flavor. My husband ordered the filet mignon. He ordered it medium. It was cooked wrong. It was prepared medium well. Very dry and over charred. Kana walked by very quickly once and asked how we were doing, not stopping to wait for our reply. If I answered him he would not of even heard my reply that's how fast he walked passed us. Completely dismissing us. We finished our meal. We had to flag down a runner for a dessert menu. Kana 20 minutes later came by to take the rest of our order. We ordered the toffee ice cream dessert. My husband and I shared it. That dessert came out in a timely manner. It was good but forgettable. Had to yet again flag someone down to retrieve our check. Gallagher's was a one and done for us. We will go to places such as Joe's, Mastros or Golden Steer ect.... Where the food and service is...
Read moreI came here two nights after having a terrible experience at Prime to put it kindly. I was dining solo as I frequently do in Vegas and once again Gallagher's showed me what food and service should be at a very reasonable price for the Las Vegas strip. At Prime I was treated like garbage because I was alone however here the server was absolutely amazing, the service was impeccable, and the food was delightful. I had the surf and turf and that was cheaper than the smallest steak they had at Prime and it blew it out of the water. The lobster tail was actually one of the better I have had and it was a 10 oz lobster tail which is a lot bigger than you would usually get at most places for a surf and turf that I believe was only 69.
I have been here a couple times in the past and it is always excellent. I think Gallagher's is probably the most underrated and fairly priced Steakhouse on the strip, and I have visited nearly if not all of them (the steakhouse at luxor coming in second surprisingly). I had an amazing calamari appetizer, a surf and turf that was absolutely delicious, a pepsi, au gratin potatoes, and a creme brulee and my bill was only $150. At Prime my bill was $120 for a small filet and a bowl of French onion soup. I would go here way before Prime and that is supposed to be one of mgm's best steakhouses.
During my visit the server was amazingly kind and helpful, my drinks were never empty, everything was spaced out perfectly, and even though he was busy he still took the time to chat with me. Also as every Steakhouse should be the manager was touching tables and stop and probably talk to me for a good 10 minutes about random things and was an amazing individual as well.
I would not hesitate to make a reservation here for any occasion, I have been there probably four or five times and every time everything has been great. The most amazing part to me is that this was not booked under MGM VIP like Prime was and I was still treated like royalty, that's how good...
Read moreVisiting Vegas on 7/26 expecting to have a great experience at Ghallagher's. The hostess was rude claiming not to have seating in a visibly open floor. We were waved, dismissively, to stand to the side of the entrance while the 2 hostesses chatted. After 6-7 minutes, I approached the hostess asking if we could be seated. She said a server called out and they were short staffed. Understandable, of course. I asked if we could be seated to wait, understanding the server issue. The hostess then led us to the far back reaches of the restaurant, far from any server's sight. I asked to be moved to a place where we could be seen and not hidden in the back. The hostess offered another table, again, very far from the area where customers were seated. I asked to see a manager and suddenly was directed to a lovely booth, in the section the server was working. Once seated, we were immediately approached by a busser and server for drinks, bread, and to order. The servers were lovely, professional, and surprisingly fast for being short handed. The food was excellent, dessert divine. I wasn't able to speak to the manager that day. As we were about to leave, the manager personally seated a large table of friends and sat with them. I waited until 7/26 and called the restaurant. I spoke a person named Brett who identified as the manager. I explained the poor service of the hostess and complimented the rest of the experience. Brett then took my email and cell offering some sort of gift card to the restaurant group. I haven't received any communication and am greatly disappointed. I can only hope the manager addressed how the hostess treated us. Customers coming in behind us were not asked to wait. We were in full view of the hostess stand and front entrance. I wish I could recommend this restaurant but the hostess ruined...
