Ohana Island Hawaiian BBQ & Boba Tea — Restaurant in Paradise

Came for a drink, left with a whole meal after seeing the menu/prices and being enticed by the smells.

The passionfruit green tea was super delicious, and had crunchy little seeds.

I ordered their salad with salmon (a $2 up charge) and a side of macaroni salad because I couldn’t resist. I waited about 15 minutes before receiving my food and getting into the car. When I got home and unpacked my haul I found an order of spam musubi. Seeing how my bill for everything was just over $20 I believe they threw that in there for free (my receipt was not itemized), which was a pleasant surprise.

The musubi was still warm and delicious; a squishy salty and sweet bundle of comfort food wrapped up perfectly.

The salad was good; the sesame oil and dressing it came with was the perfect amount. I think I messed up by ordering it with the salmon to go as the whole salad was a little warm and wilty by the time I tucked into it, but I still enjoyed it. The wonton strips were the perfect touch of crunch and flavor.

The macaroni salad was decently flavorful; very oniony and creamy, but lacking the “zing” that is my preferred style.

As a bonus, there’s a bunch of fun little claw machines in the restaurant as well.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised, and felt like the food was good value and quality especially for the price I paid for it. It was a nice place and experience with good food and a really good drink. I’ll be coming back to try more of the...

Came here after landing from the airport and I originally was looking for boba. I ended up going for a build-your-own combo plate too and it was great! The fact that $1 extra upgrades you to 3 entrees was a no brainer. I happened to go the day after their grand opening so I feel like the place was still incomplete but the food and service made up for it.
