I find it odd that every time that I have been here I have had GREAT service, friendly staff, and, pretty good food. I mean, it may not have been a 5 star restaurant type good, but the food was always hot and was fresh. I have been to Sirloin Stockade probably around 8-9 times and always left happy.
I read a LOT of the reviews here and I am shocked at how they seem to tell the same story over and over. Dirty restrooms, cold food, and bland food. I've not been to the restroom there so I can't comment on that, but I have not seen the other stuff pertaining to their (bad) food. (I would be completely mortified to read that ANYONE thought my bathroom was dirty, there is simply no excuse for that) So, while I do see the management come in here and say how they are "so sorry" that a person had a bad experience while they dined there, I don't see much of a real move from management to ALWAYS make sure that EACH person is happy. I realize that you can't say on YELP! or any review site, "Come back in and we'll give you a free meal" because everybody will leave a bad review to get free food. I would think that management SHOULD leave a number for the customer to talk things over AND the management SHOULD offer a free meal.
That right there would make the customers happy, they could possibly change their review too, which makes all of the difference in the world. When I read a review about a place that I have not been to if it has less than satisfactory reviews I will NOT go there, period, most people are that way. So management, from what I can see you might be dropping the ball here, it doen't cost you much in food to remedy a problem with customers that will only tell EVERYONE how bad their experience was otherwise.
Also, I saw more than one review that mentioned a dirty place/bathroom, those reviews were a month apart. That 'could be' a pattern there, this is not the employees fault, they will, or should do what their management tells them to do, if they don't, they should be relieved of their duties, if they aren't it reflects on you, the management. If management sees MY REVIEW and says online here that they will look into it, before they say that they really need to remedy the problem before they tell the world they "are sorry". Saying you're sorry doesn't help at all, I seriously doubt that any customer after having a bad experience will accept an apology OVER THE INTERNET.
Take this into consideration if you want real happy customers.
Just so you know, I love the place, I would hate it if it went south because things were not taken into consideration. I looked up reviews for Sirloin Stockade because I had planned on eating here for my birthday, I like it that much. I have always had good experiences like I said before. If I didn't care I wouldn't try and let you, the management, know what I think, and I bet you that MOST that read any of these reviews feel the same.
Good luck, maybe I'll see you on my...
Read moreUmm, yeah. I was actually disappointed in this place. First though let me say what i liked. The servers and cashier were very welcoming and friendly. Now lets talk about the place. After eating there im surprised of the amount of people eating there. So im sure the place is doing something right, although im not sure what it is. The Buffett food. When i go to buffets i get a small amount of different foods. That way i can almost try everything offered except the lettuce at the salad bar, because salad is salad and is usually always the same. So today i tried the: chicken tenders they were dry, the meatloaf very dense strong taste of bell peppers but not nasty just terrible. Fried fish i think it was catfish, but it was way over cooked the whole thing was crispy not just the crust. The baked chicken flavor was ok but the crispy baked skin was not crispy just rubbery and floppy. There was fried chicken but it looked way over cooked. I didn't want to take a chance. There was baked salmon with a sauce on it and again i didnt want to take a risk . There was a taco bar, well kinda. I thought it was a baked potato bar at first but no baked potatos but all the fixings for it was there. Anyway the taco meat wasn't very good it had a taco flavor to it but no, no dont bother. The spaghetti and meatballs was dry and bland and most deserts were also disappointing i dont even want to say much about those . Just eat the brownies and cookies your better off. Now let me say what was edible and not bad but there are some disappointments here also. Let me say the pot roast was actually very good, so i dont think the restaurant makes it im sure its done in a factory somewhere, but i could be wrong. The macaroni and cheese was tasty definitely made in house. The green beans were good the pinto bean were good also the fried okra was a little soggy probably undercooked. The mashed potatoes had a decent flavor, but were loose or runny not thick enough. The imitation crab salad was very tasty I liked it. The English pea salad was very good also. There was a broccoli salad and im not sure what was in it diced grilled chicken or bacon it was the only thing i could not actually eat and i had two bites i just could not try it after that. I know that i have said many negative things about the food and believe me I dont like to do that about any business, but im going to give my honest opinion. At one point my son said we should have gone to the Chinese buffet. Maybe we visited on an off day and everything went wrong in the kitchen. It happens. Like i said earlier im sure they must be doing something right because the place was busy. However I will not be going back unless im forced by an out of town family member wanting...
Read moreI’ve been multiple times and each time is slightly worse, but today was by far the worst. Ordered milk to drink - the milk is served in the kids cups with a lid - kids say it’s gross, I open and it’s chunky and clearly sour looking. When I informed the server, she said it’s not expired on the container, and it’s the only gallon they have. Asked for a kids cup with just a 1/4 water and no ice - she served a toddler an overflowing cup of water lol. As usual, most of the plates were dirty and we had to get several before finding one that isn’t covered in food already. The waiters walked around the entire time with fingers on the inside of the cups to restock the drink station - then use the cup itself with unwashed bare hands to scoop ice from below the soda machine. The dessert bar featured puddings and crumbled Oreos or nilla crackers - which were crumbled by bare hands after the employee wiped her hands off on her apron, then proceeded to get pie from the oven and then without washing hands again, serve the pie to the dessert plates and touches every single piece. No pizza on the pizza space because “we have no pepperoni” as if cheese pizza doesn’t exist. COLD insides of the chicken enchiladas. Jalepenos in the pickles. All of the fruit was gross looking and not at all the right texture. The cookies had cloth fibers attached to them.
And as if the food handling weren’t already bad enough, the woman at the front was utterly rude and continued to speak over me as I tried to tell her what we wanted to drink and the ages of the kids.
I always love a buffet, but not when it’s a cross contaminated playground for foodborne illnesses because nothing is at the right temperature.
The butter rolls were good - usually are. Glad I could eat bread for over $40 🙄
