The all-you-can-eat Catfish was excellent, the sides not so much. We came a little late around 9:30 and made sure we were not "last-minute arrivers" as the door said it was open until 10:30. Our waitress was outstanding however the place itself hit my largest pet peeve. When we walked in and were seated they started turning lights out in other rooms which is not the end of the world but definitely giving the feeling of thanks for coming but you're late to the party feeling. We ordered drinks and food and waited. In the meantime, the other people that had been there before we left and the clean-up started, which is normal but after that, the two younger waitresses sat behind the half wall right behind us talking and calling for rides stating we should be finished soon. Then the one with the glasses kept standing up looking at my plate to see if I was done. That is not really a refreshing relaxing feeling I was looking for. There also were other places to sit and wait this out they did not have to sit behind the half wall behind us on the floor. I completely understand wanting to go home after work but if you want to close and be gone by 10:30 then simply stop taking customers at 9pm. We had traveled all day and just wanted to relax, talk and have a sit-down nice meal. Needless to say, I don't believe this is going to be our regular...
Read moreOkay this is a Paris staple. The people in Paris are drawn to this place as the go to place to eat out. For the life of me I cannot figure out why? Catfish weekly? Not for me. It is good don't get me wrong. But don't go there for the catfish have the steak. It really is the best place to get a filet or a ribeye in Paris Texas. Now for atmosphere you'll be bitterly disappointed. The place is decorated in "1980's NURSING HOME DINNING ROOM". And the Melamine plates that everything is served on I've got to be at least 30 years old. They've got their money's worth out of those plates time and time again. Now the steak is served on a sizzling hot platter straight from Pancho's Mexican restaurant. Remember Panchos the cheap Mexican buffet oh, the place you ate when you had no money when you were dirt poor with awful food. You just ate there to get full. That's the exact same plate they serve steaks on. Don't go here for a romantic night out. Also if you want a glass of wine you can't get it...
Read moreThe catfish buffet was a let down. This is the second catfish buffet I've tried. There's no variety. It's the same farm raised basic crusted catfish, that you can get anywhere that serves fried catfish. I like the way the place is decorated with neat little unique rooms. The staff was nice, my kind of people. But the catfish buffet lacked variety I had to throw catchup on it just to eat enough to feel satisfied for the price. 20isnt bad for any buffet but bland catfish is not something id come back for. This place could really spice things up by having some Cajun spice packets or something to go with the catfish. My only comparison for a catfish buffet is Brazos River Cafe which has 3 or 4 options on what you can mix and match with thier buffet. Might not be apples to apples but just something I noticed. The hushpuppies I've had before just your normal boxed hushpuppies. The tomato relish was good I...
