Good food with an even better vibe!
Arrival and Atmosphere: We reserved a table in advance and were greeted warmly after having given our vehicle to the valet in the heated garage which we later got validation at the front desk for in order not to pay the $50/day parking fee. The inside of the restaurant was clean and cozy with a bit of a fancy log cabin vibe, and they prepared a high chair for my sister's baby and carrier. Our server Luca was super attentive but not overly annoying.
Food: The food was absolutely amazing for an Italian restaurant so far from the sea. The clams(calamari now, haven't updated the physical menu) were nice and soft and not too chewy, pairing well with the spicy yellow sauce, and the steak was cooked perfectly to my preferred temperature. The rest of my group all cleared their plates, even despite thinking the short rib was a little fatty. The plating was excellent too, it was obvious they had taken care to ensure things were not only paired nicely together taste-wise, but visually as well. My group especially enjoyed the Caesar salads and lobster linguine, and I personally would get the steak again. Even the vegetables were well received. I will also mention that the staff were very accommodating with substitutions between dishes as well and add-ons/split plates. This is exactly the kind of flavor I would expect for the price.
Timing: So we were indecisive quite a while after arriving but Luca was ready to take our order as soon as we did finally decide on what we wanted. The appetizers came out in a pretty quick fashion, and not unreasonably long for how many people were there and our party size(8). The entrees did take a little longer than expected, but the quality of the food more than made up for the slight delay and there were two other large groups that likely slowed the kitchen down. Not to mention the alcohol and appetizers made the time go by pretty quickly. I will add that I wish we were offered more bread after we ate all of the initial basket, but that's just me being nitpicky.
Overall this was a lovely experience in a great atmosphere with beautiful, tasty, and filling food and drinks that left everyone happy and satisfied. Everyone in my group would definitely...
Read moreOur experience was incredible! We came in the summer on a weekday so it was not busy at all. Service was prompt and impeccable, with our glasses never being without water and our table without bread.
Smooth jazz played consistently, with out choice of a lounge, outdoor, or indoor dining experience offering a variety of formality, set to our preferences. Combine that with the crisp mountain air and serene backdrop, and you've got one heck of an ambiance.
Most importantly, the food was great! We enjoyed a margarita pizza as an appetizer, which was crispy, light, and flavorful. A great warm-up to things to come. I had the the lobster linguini which was hearty and creamy. My wife had the porkchop which was surprisingly tender, juicy, and jam packed with flavor. Portions did not skimp either, with me barely being able to finish my meal and my wife only able to finish a portion of hers.
To top it all off, with out mentioning it ourselves, the staff noticed we were celebrating an anniversary (actually our honeymoon but close enough) and offered us a dessert on the house! This was the perfect surprise to end our lovely, relaxing evening.

Read moreOur review is limited in scope to breakfast. The hotel offers a largely free breakfast and the Chateaux is a 4-diamond property. While many Deer Valley restaurants offer great brunches--we were offered REGULAR SCRAMBLED EGGS and COFFEE and rushed to close. They said they were out of toast, except french toast and out of potatoes. They were looking for juice. Servers were self-centered on closing their tabs, which means they were hoping to get some tips for the "Free" meal. Just a bad overall experience--two steps below an IHOP. This kind of non-caring service and lack of customer focus may drag the entire Chateaux down. Chateaux owners and managers should overhaul this sub-par experience that was on of our only complaints at Deer Valley. Will do the Stein Eriksen for food if we stay here again. Sad to see such an unplugged staff. You were busy at 9:45--perhaps stay open to 10:15 and create some happy (vs frustrated) customers. This was our last day of vacation in Deer Valley and we will recall a fabulous week ending on a bad...
