Had the pleasure to enjoy India's Kitchen in Parker, CO once again, celebrating wedding anniversary... so am updating my former review from 8 years ago. India's Kitchen just as delicious as before!!!
My husband and I eat at this restaurant regularly and have been coming here for about 15 years. Our 3 young sons also love the food, especially their creamy smooth spinach dish that is NEVER sour. My husband is a French chef and believes this to be the BEST Indian restaurant in the Denver Metro area because they are nuanced with their seasonings and spices-- not everything is hot or mild but varied from dish to dish, and every dish tastes completely unique (some Indian places the heat level and flavors are about the same across all dishes, but not here).
Also, I am a vegetarian and I love that India's Kitchen always serves a fresh buffet made each day, fresh dinners, no left overs. It's about the only Indian place where I can serve myself 4 to 6 different dishes on my plate that are all vegetarian (not counting the bread and rice). Other Indian places I'm lucky to have a choice of maybe 2 vegetarian dishes at most. Really appreciate that they keep us vegetarians in mind, while my husband the meat eater loves the chicken, beef and lamb items. Here's a picture featuring delicious lentils, spinach, korma vegetables, Lamb and naan bread,; we already devoured...
Read moreAte here tonight. Food was good, but the service sucked. Our waitress didn't greet us, took a while to get to our table, and then asked us if we wanted any drinks first, which is typical. Although we already knew what we wanted to order for food, we made the mistake of saying, "Oh, we didn't look at the drinks, but..." Before we could finish, she took our comment as "we didn't look at the menu" (?) And just walked away from us, mid-sentence. We quickly scanned the drink menu, decided we didn't want anything anyways, and then sat there for 10+ minutes while we watched her talk to her friends and play with her hair (ew) behind the bar. We finally walked up to her at the bar to say we were ready to order whenever she was ready, and she just said, "okay hold on," and then went to help someone else (perfectly understandable!) When she finally came to take our order, she was curt and clearly aggravated. We felt like we were bothering her to even place an order. This whole interaction (or lack thereof) made the experience pretty crappy, so I really don't know how comfortable we would ever be coming back. Maybe order to go food from this place, and then it would be okay? Idk. This was our first time here, so we have nothing positive to counterbalance this...
Read moreSince moving to Aurora, I have not been here in over 3 years but I'm glad to be back. Only occurring on Fridays and weekends, the buffet price has increased to $16, like pretty much every other place. Unlike most of them though, this restaurant justified it by adding a lamb dish (with 80% lamb pieces) and maintaining the quality of the food. I forgot how good a buffet can be if the food is well prepared and the staff care about it.
Strategy: the rice is fresher than the naan but nothing beats the bread in soaking up the sauces or making m tacos with the other entrees,i.e. lamb with saag paneer. I made the mistake of taking too much rice and had to get a second dish of just entrees to finish it. The buffet then has a number of veggie dishes but do not load up on these, especially the potato ones. They will fill you up! The fried veggie clusters (pakora) are pretty good though. There are then 5 meat dishes, 4 chicken and 1 lamb. The star is definitely the lamb, I probably ate over a pound by myself. It's so tender and flavorful with the right amount of spice. There are cold foods such as salad and a rice pudding to end the buffet bar but they are not worth much attention. The rice pudding is ok.
PS: the men's bathroom is actually clean....
