I really enjoyed my three visits here. I never leave a review until I’ve been there a couple times to make sure it wasn’t just a good or bad day for the staff.
First I’d like to touch on the service. You can definitely tell there are some veterans and rookies in the industry here. All are friendly and try their best to make this an enjoyable experience. What was great was seeing the vets help out the newer staff when they started to get in the weeds. Even the bartenders would run food to help out servers whose tables definitely were not part of the bar section. Each experience I had great interaction with the staff and they make you feel like they really enjoy having you in their section. Brett was training a server on one of my visits and let the trainee take the wheel and do his best. If she felt he missed something or wasn’t thorough enough she would let him finish and then touch on the items that needed attention. Her customer service is top notch and really has a passion for customer service.
Being a self proclaimed bourbon connoisseur I was hoping to see some classics behind the bar (Weller, Blanton’s, Elmer T. Lee, Stagg etc) and was a little disappointed that they didn’t have any. Having said that I do love that they have a local theme and the local bottles were well thought out. Sometimes you just have to understand that not all great bourbons come Kentucky. The beer selection is well thought out and it is refreshing to see that the beer manager doesn’t just overload IPAs, even though they are my favorite. You really get to take a tour of the taste that Colorado has to offer and who wouldn’t with it being the greatest craft beer state. On my last visit I wanted to see how their craft cocktails matched up. The drinks were very well balanced and left you using the mixing straw to try and get every last drop. This definitely isn’t a Williams and Graham type of spot so don’t expect that kind of drink but the cocktails exceeded my expectations for an upscale tap house.
The food that comes out of the kitchen looked and tasted great. The steak was well cooked with a nice char and seasoned well. The green chili was fantastic. I watched many plates and they all looked well done. Kudos to the kitchen staff as they seemed busy but food temps and timing was on point.
The atmosphere is very nice. A lot of time and money went in to getting this place set up. Over fifty taps and big beautiful bar. The dining is comfortable and well thought out to maximize seats without breathing down peoples backs. Huge patio with fire pit and corn hole to pass the time. Don’t let the description of tap house fool you. It’s very nice and more on the upper end of a casual dining. I like the angle they went with it. You could come here with the guys to watch some sports and have some beers, take your lady out for a nice dinner and drinks or even bring the whole family. I think they captured the Parked market perfectly. The only problem I can see with this place will be the parking once everyone catches on to this fantastic spot.
Thank you for bringing this gem to Parker. It will definitely be one of my regular...
Read moreWe DO NOT recommend this restaurant for anyone (West Main Taproom and Grill, 18595 E Mainstreet, Parker, CO 80134). Please DO NOT dine here!! We attempted to have dinner here Sat, 8 May, at 3:30PM with reservations. It was my husband and I with our two children. My husband served in the Air Force over 20 years and stated he has never felt more disrespected than he did with this experience. They were about 10% of capacity when we arrived. We were told immediately upon entry that we had one hour and 30 minutes to eat. When does a restaurant give you an eat time with two children!! There was no cordial greeting and one of the hostesses especially had the biggest attitude from the second we walked in. We played the situation out a little longer when they attempted to sit us at a table by the front entry. They were only 10% full but wanted us to sit with the few that were there already. They wanted us to sit at a small table within four feet of the other tables. Two of the chairs you couldn’t pull out because of the patrons sitting at the table behind it. My husband respectfully asked if we could be seated at a different table with a clear view 80% were available. We were told they could not assist our request that we had to take the small table by entry even though there were other four seat tables at the back wall completely empty as well. There were three ladies at the front desk and they treated us like they were doing a favor by talking with us. Our only request was to have a table that could accommodate us with two small children but they continued to refuse our request in the rudest way possible. They said all the other tables were reserved in a little over an hour but they were at 10% capacity and giving us one hour and 30 minutes to eat. We stated that was not acceptable and they said we could leave. My husband told them we would not be back and one of the ladies said yes you will. ABSOLUTLEY DISRECPTFUL. We have traveled all over the US and dined at 100s of restaurants and have never been treated as we were at this restaurant. This place should not be making money when they have no respect for their patrons. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We decided to eat at Brick House Tavern and the experience was completely the opposite. We had no reservation and they greeted us with respect and kindness. We immediately got a seat that was perfect for our family. The server Shawn was outstanding and the food was amazing. It’s incredible you can have two totally different experiences because of the employees. We highly recommend Brick...
Read moreCame here for a Monday dinner before going to a movie with friends. I ordered the New York strip with gnocchi because it sounded delicious. I ordered a medium/rare steak and it arrived to me sliced. The steak was medium in the center and well done at the end. It was sad that this steak was sliced and delivered to me this way. I sent the steak back and the next one came rare/raw in the center to medium at the end, again sliced. It was obvious that the Monday line cook doesn't know how to cook a proper steak.
Before the steak we ordered the artichoke dip for the table. The dip was delivered to us and no plates were offered, let alone given. My friend was left to slather this dip on the piece of bread in her hand which resulted in it being a hot mess that ended up on her hand. Plates were given when I asked for them and then cleared when the dip was finished.
My friends ordered the buffalo wings to share as an entree while I tried and failed to eat my steak. They again were not given plates to eat the wet buffalo wings but they felt so awkward at that point that they did not allow me to again ask for plates that should've been delivered without asking.
My friend ordered a whiskey cocktail that came with a large cube of ice. He raved about how delicious and well balanced this drink was and insisted that everyone else try it. This drink was so good that he decided to order a second one which was obviously a mistake. The second drink was delivered with the standard small ice cubes and the significant watering down of the drink before he even received it changed the flavor of said drink.
My suggestions to the restaurant: If you can't hire people that can cook a proper steak every day of the week then take it off of your menu and only offer it on the busy weekends as a special when you have the staff that knows how to cook it. Deliver plates for all appetizers to avoid the uncomfortable situation we were put in. When people are sharing something as an entree make sure they have plates to properly share it. Make your specialty cocktails the same every time. Train your staff properly so these kinds of things don't happen again.
When you visit a higher end place you expect higher end service no matter what day it is. I should expect to receive the same quality and service at 6pm on a Monday as I would at 6pm on a...
