I had the Deluxe afternoon tea experience today and it was such a wonderful time. I had been in Colorado for a conference and set up a reservation before I had to head back home. Right away when you enter, you are greeted by the friendly staff and teapots and tea cups as far as the eye can see.
When you are seated, water and a sample of the tea of the month is brought out immediately. The loose leaf tea selection is quite extensive. But never fear, the ladies in the shop are so helpful in making your selections. I was able to try a few different kinds of tea which was nice since I couldnât make up my mind on what I wanted. I ended up trying the Earl Grey lavender, the Indian Chai, White Cherry, and Pineapple Cake teas. While they were all delicious in their own ways, the Pineapple Cake tea was my favorite of the afternoon. So much so that I bought some loose leaf to take home. After you have been sipping your tea for a bit, your savories are brought out. All three sandwich types were excellent, but the tomato cheese was my favorite. After that, your scones are brought out. These scones. Oh. My. Word. They are flakey and buttery and still slightly warm. They come studded with dried cranberries and served with your choice of jame and real clotted cream! They are made in house daily and you can taste the love that goes into making them. Finally, when you feel like you are about to burst from all the delicious food, your last tier from the Deluxe package is two shortbread cookies. I canât say for sure if they were homemade because I forgot to ask, but they definitely tasted like they were. Perfectly buttery and not too crumbly when you took a bite and held up after being dunked in your tea.
All in all, from the attentiveness of the servers to the quality of the food and drink is well worth the price which also included tax and tip. English Tealeaves is an experience you donât want to miss. I hope next time I am in Colorado I am able to...

In Colorado, I keep finding places that for some reason donât understand temps when it comes to soup. Other things as well but mainly just soup...seriously itâs a pet peeve of mine and a running joke between my husband and I. Hot soup around these parts has become a magical unicorn. Not today though and not this place! #EnglishTeaLeaves in #ParkerColorado handed me a piping hot ham and split pea soup that I would have hugged if it wasnât liquid. To say I was stoked is an understatement. Itâs the little things, people. It wasnât just that though, the hot tea selection was exactly what I needed on this cold day, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable and our lunch was also extremely fresh. Soft bread, tasty, sweet fruits....it was all so fantastic. And I tell you what, I felt so healthy and energized after my meal was done. Which was exactly the type of fuel my husband and I both needed to finish out the rest of our busy day. I got my omegas in my salmon cucumber sandwich and he got his fix from the Shepardâs Pie (one of his favorite meals) and we both got dignified from our snowflake tea: a mix of black tea, coconut, and almond. As I write this....Iâm hungry for more. Hahahaha....the hot soup alone will make me go back and yea, I might even do a high tea one of these days. You never know. Thanks again #englishtealeavesparker it was a treat and Thank you, Michele for the stellar service....we most definitely will be back!...
Read moreIt was a cute tea shop. If you know a tea lover, they had some incredibly beautiful tea sets for sale. They offered the tea iced as well as hot, and I appreciated that. The food was mediocre - nothing to write home about. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. However, for the 2 hours that we were there, our tea time could easily have been cut in half and achieved the same results. We waited forever to even be given a tea menu, the time between courses was way too long (they premade the sandwiches, etc. in the morning, so Iâm not sure what took so long), and several times the waitress approached our table but left our dirty dishes (I piled them neatly at the edge of the table so that it was obvious we were done). Then when it was time to go, I had to wait 15 minutes at the register for someone to appear. The experience was WAY too long. I will say that our waitress did ask several times if we wanted more tea, so that was nice. For what you spend, I would recommend the Brown Palace High Tea over this one.
*In response to the reply: I would advise your guests ahead of time if you anticipate a longer than normal experience due to short staffing. There were only 4 tables in total that were being used, and all 4 werenât filled at the same time. So that doesnât quite add up. Also, since your food was premade, it doesnât quite make sense that it would take so long to bring it to a table. If it was made in the spot, I would be more understanding. Lastly, waiting that long to check out...
