Captain D's — Restaurant in Parkersburg

Update.. I had delivery from this restaurant and I thought for sure hoping this restaurant would’ve improved. They haven’t. I ordered my favorite 2 piece chicken and 2 piece fish. The fish was good, chicken was so small that it wasn’t even a pinky length, and the baked potato was very dry with a gray color. I was very nauseous trying to eat my dinner. Trying to sell 2 nuggets for $2.49 is an insult. Sad to say this will be the last time I go here for my favorite dishes. The whole order with the seafood platter, my meal, and the chicken tenders cost over $50. Do yourself a favor and spend dine-in prices at full service restaurants like chedders than eating subpar food from this restaurant. I remember a long time ago captain ds was better than long john silvers. Unfortunately they lost there quality and decided profit margin is more important then quality.

Old review… Please do yourself a favor and do not go here. I had a pickup, the chicken strips were half the size as regular being chicken nuggets, there was no fish in my fish and chicken meal, fries were cooked, soggy, and very cold. Even my favorite hush puppies were spongy and not the same. I'm thinking they cut cost with another vender or this store just got the bottom of the barrel. The only meal that was good is the wild caught salmon. Just drive another 2 more miles and enjoy a Captain Ds worth eating.

Update: I gave it another chance and it seems things are a little better. The chicken was a little over cooked but overall take out was decent. Last time was a disaster but this time everything was good. They changed the chicken to more of Popeyes style chicken, okra was delicious, and the fish was good. Their new menu is worth it. Update... Sept. 19, 2020 Several days ago I heard from the store manager. He seemed real upset at the quality of food I had received. During that call he (Roger) specifically told me 4 to 5 different times that I would get 2 free meals. All I had to do was give then his name and mine. I went to redeem them and found out I only got 1. I was so mad. I ended up going somewhere else for food. If it was better I'd get food there at least once a week. As it stands now I'm probably never returning again.

It is just terrible. It seemed like we were served old fries that had been sitting in a warmer for over an hour. I got the food to go. By the time we sat down to eat it it was almost ice cold. Like it had barely been warm when we got it. Oh and the hush puppies were terrible. They tasted like they had been cooked in 10 year old oil. Then rewarmed in said oil. Yuck! I went through the drive thru around 10:45 this morning, fries were ice cold (close to opening, so no excuse for this), and the sandwich i got was advertised to have lettuce on it, which it didn’t. When I called back and told them, they told me they didn’t have lettuce at the moment (we were not informed of this before purchasing) and i asked if I’d be able to get a replacement sandwich when they did have lettuce again and she hung up on me. I figured the call just got dropped, so I called back and she hung up on me again immediately after answering. Her name was Brittany I believe.
