Driving home from a South Carolina vacation, we found found ourselves looking for a lunch spot on our last leg to Akron Ohio. Driving down the main retail strip we just found the usual fast food and pizza ☹️. Pulled over and did a google search and Cham's popped up with wonderful reviews. Lebanese in WV? We chanced it due to the reviews and glad we did. In the old town strip lies a quaint storefront begging us to come in. Note, we are foodies that love various cuisines. Once inside we started to seat ourselves until the son came from out back with menus in hand and gave us our table of choice. Polite and stylish, he sat us and answered any questions me might have. This is a family operation, simple, clean and down home. Don't expect 5 star fine dining, just good home cooking in a family atmosphere. All the reviews we have read are true. They treat you like family. The food was simple but of great quality. It is like sitting in someone's dining room for a neighborhood meal. Almost everything is homemade and no reason to add salt etc. and yes, the hummus is the best you will ever have! Not normally my favorite but I can't stop raving about it. My wife had sharwma, vegetarian son had falafel and I had the chicken wrap with garlic aioli (can't remember the correct spelling). Hummus and more appetizers were also excellent. Mom stopped by to check on us half way thru and we gave our compliments. On checkout we again gave rave reviews to the owner who cashed us out. Turns out he spent several years in Cleveland working with a local Mediterranean restaurant which we thought had the best hummus, so we thought. Yes, like other reviewers have said, we were fortunate to be sent home with complimentary desserts. We left an additional tip begrudgingly against his wishes but felt we should pay it forward. If you are passing thru or nearby, it is worth the stop! Parking is easy and remember they are only open Monday thru Friday 11am-8pm. One last word, HUMMUS, HUMMUS, HUMMUS! Oh, the rest of the menu is great as well! Thanks for...

I recently had the pleasure of trying out the Lebanese cuisine at this restaurant, and I must say that the flavors and authenticity are truly top-notch. The menu offers a unique selection of dishes that are a delightful treat for the taste buds. The quality of the food alone makes this place stand out in my books.

However, I wanted to share an experience that left a bit of a sour note during my visit. On one occasion, I arrived about 20 minutes before the closing time. I had heard great things about the baklava dessert, which I was eager to try. To my surprise, when I approached the counter to place my order, the person working there seemed rather frustrated and berated me slightly, saying, "You know we're closing soon."

I understand that working long hours can be tiring, but I believe that good customer service should extend until the very end of business hours. As someone who works in customer service myself, I always welcome customers with a smile, even if they come in close to closing time. I know I'm being oversensitive but at my store I genuinely enjoy assisting customers and ensuring they have a positive experience even if they come near closing.

My only gripe with my visit was this interaction at the counter. It left me slightly taken aback and affected the overall impression I had of the place. I firmly believe that exceptional food should be complemented by exceptional service, regardless of the time.

In the end, I rate this restaurant 3 stars due to the fantastic food and the desire for a more customer-friendly approach, even during the final moments of operation. I hope that my feedback is taken constructively, as I genuinely enjoyed the culinary experience your...

[Mon.18.March.2024]

Stopped by here for the First time for Lunch, it is located at 610 Market St sets beside Blue Cross / Blue Shield Ins. and across street from Cancellor Ins. Company. The Outside of Business is Nicely Painted and Clean, walked inside the Restaurant was spacious and very clean with Great Decor, Tables was well Dressed and Set for customers. The lady that took our order was so Kind and Helpful with ordering and explained the types of foods. After few minutes the lady brought Salads to our table (with basket full of bread 😳- i do think only one wrapped pack of bread would been enough tho) which was a unexpected surprise, did not know it came with Salad orders. Taste of the Salads was different but Delicious, later the Pita Shish Taouk, Shish Taouk Skewers, Sfiha Pizza, Cream Cheese Fatayer, Cabbage Rolls was brought out in Perfect timing. All the food was Cooked, Prepared and Plated correctly, (( I do think the Cabbage Rolls should been more Plump)), never had Lebanese type foods before today, it was different and good tasting, my Palate is Hooked for Pita Shish Taouk.

Thanks for Lunch….

(1) Pita Shish Taouk $13.00 each (2) Shish Taouk Skewers $16.00 each (1) Sfiha Pizza $4.00 each (4) Cabbage Rolls $8.50 ($2.12each) (1) Cream Cheese Fatayer $2.00 each

I’m embarrassed to say that I have lived in the Mid-OH Valley most of my life and had never eaten here until about 2 months ago. I had heard of Cham’s and people that knew me and my eating habits kept telling me to eat there. All I can say is WOW! I told the owner that I felt like a lost puppy all my life and finally found a home. The food is SO good. To any out-of-towners, I highly recommend eating here. It is family-owned and from the moment you sit down to the moment you leave you feel like you belong. Not only that, the food makes you feel full but not bloated because, guess what, it’s REAL food! The grape-leaf wrapped rice, Hummus and eggplant were divine. My husband ordered lamb kabobs (totally not the Lebanese name for it ;) and absolutely loved it. He told me that when we go out to eat that this is the place we will be going. They aren’t open on the weekends and close fairly early during the week but make it a point to go there during open hours. You won’t regret it! P.S. the pic is their large order of hummus and pita bread for dipping. SO good!

I visited this restaurant on a Wed evening while traveling for business. What a pleasant surprise to find a restaurant of this quality and authenticity. I am not lucky enough to find this type of restaurant very often while traveling for business. I had the nightly special (the first item on the hand written specials), which included hummus, a small salad which I changed to a tabouli, and Lima beans on rice. The hummus was extraordinary, the pita was thin and light, and everything tasted as if I was in the Middle East at a local favorite place. This meal far exceeded my expectations, and this restaurant would do well in a culinary mecca, like Chicago. I had a Turkish Coffee for dessert, and it has been too long since I had a real Turkish Coffee. The prices are so reasonable, that this place would be a bargain if the prices were double what they charge. Wow, I hope I find myself in Parkersburg, WV again in the future, so that I can visit again and try something else.
