Zak Huffman’s Prime Steakhouse anniversary dinner
Having heard about a new up scale restaurant I decided it would be a good place to celebrate our anniversary. I called to book a reservation and got exactly what we wanted. I received a text to confirm the reservation and the morning of the reservation I got a phone call, wishing us a happy anniversary and confirming our reservation.
We arrived early as traffic was lite an we were excited.
Upon arrival we were greeted an again wish a happy anniversary and promptly seated by Dottie, the maître D.
Dottie introduced us to our server, Joelle and while Joelle got us water, Dottie explained the menu and gave us so many recommendations that we already knew we would have to come back.
Joelle returned and asked if we were ready to order. We said no but wanted to start with a dozen oysters.
After the oysters arrived Joelle returned and asked about our order. We ordered a 14 oz bone in dry aged ribeye, scalloped potatoes and green beans.
While we waited for our meal, Joelle kept checking in on us without hovering. She never let out water glasses go empty and was just perfect.
When the steak arrived, it was split table side and served to us individually. The sides were served family style and a generous portion. The steak was cooked to perfection and tender as can be! The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and I think the beans were finished with a drizzle of olive oil that was delicious.
Throughout the meal, Joelle continued to check on us and my wife made the comment that she never stopped by when we had food in our mouths.
I finally had to comment to Joelle, anyone can bring food from the kitchen to the table, but it takes skill and dedication to be a career waitress and she had it in spades.
Though stuffed, Joelle asked about dessert an we asked what they offered. We settled on I think they called it huffmans ice cream, but whatever you call it, we called it delicious. My wife said she would only eat a bite or two. She lied! She couldn’t stop eating this perfect balance of vanilla ice cream, fresh raspberries, cherries and a giant chocolate truffle.
Oh! I almost forgot, we ordered a bottle of Post & Beam Cabernet Sauvignon. Their wine, bourbon and specialty cocktail selections is fantastic.
My wife wants to go back next week.
My only warning is to go hungry, and if you are lucky enough to have Joelle serve you, prepare to leave a good tip because she is worth...
Read moreFirst our table was not available at the time of the reservation and the waitress directed us to the bar and advised we could have dinner there. If I wanted bar seating I would not have made a reservation. Second I ordered a shot of chilled Patron that was served incorrectly, I had to instruct the bartender how to serve it. Third we were seated at a table that backed up to the wall so I had to request the table to be moved out so that I may eat comfortably. Fourth we had to ask for bread because the appetizers were taking forever. Bread received and the seasoned butter was so salty it was hard to eat however the olive oil alternative didn't have enough seasoning. Finally appetizers received and were so so. Now waiting for dinner and waiting ask why salad ordered was not delivered after appetizers, so upon asking, salad was delivered then entree immediately therefore. Steak not cooked properly and not a good cut. Oh and the butter mentioned earlier was yes on the steak (and not even melted)therefore steak was salty. When ask for pepper the waiter came with the pepper grinder and ask where I wanted it and I replied on my table. He says "you can do that on your own". Lobster mashed potatoes were also not good. The only memorable part of my meal were the mushrooms. The waiter appeared to be new and little quality food descriptions. I was in Parkersburg from Florida for a special event and was so excited to see an upscale dining option. Needless to say I wish I would have gone to Texas Roadhouse instead. The owner came ro our table and I was about to tell him about my experience and he politely dismissed himself. This experience was disturbing as my childhood friend wanted to take me to dinner and this is how our dinner went. Sincerely, Dianne Kyer Reservation Name...
Read moreOk finally we have nice steakhouse that tops any food chain in town. I took my wife here to celebrate her promotion. They called me and asked if there was a special occasion of which I informed them of the promotion, and they gave a complimentary bubbly in Lou of our celebration which I thought was cool. Now for the food, we had the wyagu steak carpacio, the New York strip and lobster mashed potatoes. The appetizer was well plated and taste even better. The steak had a hiccup as the ran out of the NY strip however asked if an upgrade to the dry aged bone in ny strip would suffice at the same cost of the regular NY strip. This absolutely was beyond professional and prompt!!!! The steak was cooked to perfection! I even had a side of peppercorn sauce " the steak was devine by itself" however the sauce was savory as well. The lobster mashed potatoes were beautifully plated. The lobster bits melted in your mouth as the smoothness of the potatoes surrounded any taste buds that felt neglected and trust me none were!!!! Our waiter was great but what impressed me more is that several people checked on us even though they weren't our assigned waiter. To top the night off we shared a peanut butter cheese cake that would satisfy any sweet tooth. It was a bit rich for me however I found myself eating more than I thought I could handle. The prices were more than a typical chain restaurant, but we weren't coming here for something regular and didn't mind spending the extra money on food and hospitality that was well worth it!!!! We've already are setting our sites on another visit soon! If you are on the fence here's your sign to go! You won't be...
