It's rare when a restaurant with excellent reviews exceeds your expectations but our visit on May 4th did. Being new to the neighborhood (Glades and the Tpke) we set out to find the best pizza, mexican, chinese, etc... The reviews were very positive so we went with high expectations, We were seated outside which was nice and quiet. Our young server, Matthew, was very nice, attentive and knew the menu inside and out. When I questioned him on what kind of Samuel Adams they had, he brought a bottle of it to me so I could see exactly what they had. No miscommunication. We started with a frozen Classic margarita. It was delicious without being too sweet. At $10 it was fairly priced. Based on the reviews, we started with the guacamole which Matthew made at our table. It was very good and their homemade chips were maybe the best I've had. After the app we shared the shrimp fajitas, which had a generous portion of shrimp with a delicious combination of peppers and onions in a tasty sauce. The only negative is that the tortillas didn't come out until we were half way done eating off the hot plate. Casa Tequila will now serve as our go-to Mexican and we will ask for Matthew again.
UPDATE We visited this restaurant for about the 5th time and, unfortunately, it was the worst of the 5. The restaurant was 3/4 full and very noisy so we asked to be seated outside where there were only 2 tables occupied. We sat for 10 minutes without anyone looking our way. Finally, someone came with chips and salsa but when we asked for drinks (it was 85 out) she said she'd send a server. 10 minutes later still nothing so I flagged down a server working the other side. She said it's not her table and will check inside. 5 minutes later she said no one had our table so she would help us. This is horrible service. On top of that, the chips that I initially raved about were stale. We live around the corner so, if we go again, it will be for drinks only. We will have to look for another Mexican place to eat....
Read moreThis was our first time dining at your establishment. I saw it while shopping and was curious since we are huge foodies and love dining out. This unfortunately will be our last at your place we had the worst experience. When we arrived your hostess was rude and not friendly at all. I asked her if we could sit in the bar side and she grunted and gave us a side eye like I was annoying her. Then we were seated our waiter finally came over and we order martinis. My husband martini was awful was half full and he had one taste and it taste like water not vodka. I tried his and it was awful. We mention it to the waiter and his excuse was he was following the rules. What does that even mean?!?! That serving a half filled water martini is ok? And it’s ok to charge me full price for a half filled martini with water. That makes no sense. He also mumble something under his breath we couldn’t hear. Then when he came back over my husband and I were like you need to take back this drink. We were going to just order a wine but he wouldn’t even let us finish our sentence told us to wait he needs to finish something but yet he was at our table. This was a sign to us that this dinner is going bad and fast. I told him from the moment we walked in the customer service been awful and we’re all set. This been the worst experience ever and I’m so glad we didn’t waste our money on dinner there. You need to spend some extra time training your staff. There’s a million of Mexican restaurants in Boca their a dime a dozen like pool and lawn companies. It was our first time walking out somewhere but if the beginning was awful we couldn’t imagine staying any longer and wasting our money. I took the time now to read your reviews and I see a constant pattern of bad service over and over again. I wish I read them prior....
Read moreThis was the second time I came here to eat with my girlfriend on St. Patties Day and we liked the Food, we both got 2 different cocktails, and we thought the Server was knowledgeable and attentive. But this time we came, we had Mary as our server. She was nice, she brought out our drinks and appetizer at a responsible time. We ordered Tableside Guacamole, and I thought it was old that for a Restaurant in Boca, Mary our Server made the Guacamole in front of us without gloves on. Then after we got our Entrées, I told her I didn't like the Dish I got Pollo En Mole. I made to Tacos out of it, and I told her no matter how I had it, it was overly sweet. That I compared it if someone tired to make Mole, then added BBQ sauce to it. She took it away and offered me a menu to choose something else, but in this time, my girlfriend felt bad and gave me her Fujita Burrito which I thought was good. But no Manager came to the Table to talk to us, the guy she did speak to behind the Bar just stared at me with a angry and annoyed looking face, and when she gave us the bill, she took half of it off. I've worked in the Hospitality Industry for over 17 years, and as a Restaurant Manager myself, I would never have a guest pay for something they didn't like. We are not sure after this experience that we want to continue being Partons of Casa Tequila. We still gave Mary over 22% of a Tip on the original subtotal, so I don't know why she was belt on keeping the Mole on the bill; I guess we just expected more from a Restaurant in the Heart of Boca, but there are definitely better Mexican Restaurants that are priced around the same but give far...
