SKYFIN Asian Bistro — Restaurant in Boca Raton

I met some co-workers here for lunch on a Friday. The decor was modern and the vibe casual. Our waiter was very attentive and responsive to our needs.

Between the 4 of us, we ordered several different appetizers and sushi rolls. The appetizers were flavorful (the edamame and the gyoza).

The sushi rolls were presented beautifully (4 stars for presentation). Unfortunately, they were lacking in the flavor department (2.5 - 3 stars). We concluded that the lack of cream cheese in the rolls that normally contained it, may have been a contributing factor. SKYFIN adds its own flair to how it makes its rolls. This is not unique to them and is one of the reasons I like trying sushi from different places. Unfortunately, their rolls were bland and underwhelming. One of the rolls we ordered, was the Lobster roll. This is by far one of my favorites to order at sushi restaurants. As you can see from the picture, it is presented beautifully. However the taste of lobster was undetectable. I just have to assume that lobster was indeed added. But I would not have guessed it during a blind taste test. So I don't recommend this restaurant for sushi. There are by far many better places to enjoy...

Tonight we checked out this new hidden gem in Boca. Love their interior design, nothing over the top but it's great the way it is. Food presentation is stunning. It reminded me of being on vacation in Domican republic reservations only type resturant in resort. Their fish here is the freshest I've have in all 3 years on living in FL. Being a former New Yorker, finally finding a spot that can make sushi like home ❤ However, service needs to be touched up a bit. Don't get me wrong everyone is super friendly and pleasant! But it's just little things like making sure youre table is doing okay, refilling water for the table and how quick they bring out the food (sushi and kitchen are a bit slow) I still have 5 ⭐ because I they are very new and I'm sure will work on this more. I'll definetly come back for their sushi, but most likely without children as there's really nothing for them there... not to eat or even those silly coloring pages with a kids menu.

My advice to this new place is work on the service part towards your tables, please add clear soup to your menu and consider becoming a little bit more child...

My wife and I came here for lunch because we love Asian cuisine and were impressed by the reviews. Plus we used to come to the previous establishment (Red Boat). The decor is nice, the staff is very friendly, the menu has great options and the food is absolutely delicious. The lunch menu is well priced and includes miso soup or salad. We had both and they both were good. We also ordered Shumai, the JB roll and the avocado eel roll. All three were good with the JB roll being our favorite. Now we get into you blow your mind territory because we ordered the beef pad thai and the tangerine peel beef dish. The pad thai was full of flavor in the beef inside of it was so tender. The tangerine peel beef had the amazing dynamic of being crunchy yet being unbelievably tender. We are big fans of Chinese orange chicken and PF Chang's orange peel shrimp and orange peel beef dishes and this one takes the cake! We will certainly be back for more of that tangerine peel beef and to try the other items on their menu. Highly...
