We attended the opening night of Parkville Wine House and what a fantastic place! We were really impressed with the friendly and knowledgeable staff, the wine and beer selections, ambiance, and the food.
It is clear that a lot of thought has gone into the procurement of the wines offered- so many great wines but so little time, so I guess we will have to keep coming back! During this visit, I had a wine flight and then we shared a bottle of cab. Great wine selection and recommendations from the staff! They also offer craft beers from smaller brewers. My husband had a beer that the staff recommended and he enjoyed it. We also shared a flatbread and it was sooooo good! The seasoning was spot on, the crust was perfect, and they used real mozzarella.
The ambiance was very nice! It was super busy when we first arrived, but were able to snag a table in the Aviary Room. This is a particularly interesting room as they have several framed and matted photos taken at the nearby Nature Sanctuary. The photos are for sell and all proceeds go back to the Sanctuary. What a great idea to give back to the local community! When the crowd started to thin out, we moved near the bar area and made new friends. We also checked out the upstairs area and upper level deck. The entire space is sophisticated, but relaxed and comfortable. It is also super clean!
We are so happy that Parkville Wine House has opened. It is surely soon to be the crown jewel...
Read moreOur server was "ok". She didn't seem to know what she was serving on the flights. She had to ask what one was when giving them to us. Took our food order then came back 30 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order. Then said "oh yeah let me go see what I did with that". When we wanted to order one of the wines by the bottle of the flight she wasn't for sure if it was the $30 or $50 bottle. Came back showed us a bottle and said "I am almost positive its this one". Red wine was chilled when ordered by the bottle but was room temp when we tasted it. Wines were just "ok" and $20/flight. Server was not very attentive or focused that night. One of our party of four ordered a bottle of wine. She started pouring it into glasses without asking and one person wasn't even done with her last sample on the flight yet, so had to drink that before going back to her pour she had left on the table. After ordering a second bottle of wine it was like she disappeared and didn't even come back to check on us for a long time. Veggie and Italian flat bread pizzas were good. One of our parties crust was burnt on their pizza though. They didn't have fresh baked cookies like their menu said. The assorted chocolates for $8 was about 10 small pieces of dove chocolates. I know it's an old house but it was chilly in the...
