We live in Olathe have made the trip several times in the past 2 years in order to try and play a round of mini-golf and each time it was closed. Tonight we were finally able to get in so we were looking forward to it.
Getting up to the course from the parking area is a slight trek as the entrance is up multiple sets of steps and walkways. Inside the building at the top is where you pay your admission and pick up clubs and golf balls
They also sell ice cream and light snacks/sofas. The first tee is right outside the door and this is where is gets started. The course winds its way up down and around and back to the main building. If you have issues climbing stairs or walking uneven surfaces this course is NOT FOR YOU. Tonight the crowd was mixed with families, couples, high school/young college kids. Everyone was behaving and having fun. Groups were talking amongst themselves and group to group. No one was complaining if another group took extra time to finish a hole (even though it's posted 5 stroke limit). The Course however Needs a lot of attention as you can see by the pictures. I don't think one hole had completely intact greens(outdoor carpet). Seriously Owners take some pride and fix the course, yes it's a popular spot but do a little improvement. Not sure if we'll make the trip again anytime soon unless we hear there's been...
Read moreIf they spent as much money replacing the massive sections of missing turf on their course as they've spent on their professionally printed metal signs warning you not to vandalize or steal from them (placed on just about every other hole), and on their numerous security cameras, of which they also have professionally printed signs to inform you they are watching you in case you steal or vandalize... well this might just be a course worth returning to. At 10 bucks a game I'd think they could buy a few pieces of normal mini-golf turf to patch over the missing areas. Some holes have a long shaggy turf that is hard to putt through, like nothing I've ever seen on a mini-golf course before. some have rough, exposed sections of concrete for you to putt over, throwing off your shot and tearing up the balls... I used to like to come here every now and then, but this place has gone downhill in the past few years. I wouldn't like to return to it in its current state. Rude signs everywhere give off a really paranoid vibe, and for whatever "vandalism" problems they seem to be having, they don't seem to be utilizing funds or insurance to fix them. Just seem to be spending money on more signs to warn you not to do it. What the heck is going on here? A real shame. At the very least, the staff on duty was very nice, but nothing else made this a...
Read moreA fun place to go mini golf. A pretty setting and unique course. Downsides? Not kept clear of leaves and debris very well and the last 4-5 holes are extra irritating... once you put your first stroke, the green is so tilted that unless you get a hole in one, you are going to roll to the bottom curb.... and stay there. The putting green on those holes are so tilted the ball won't sit. You can't even move the ball off the curb because it is so tilted it just rolls right back. I tried using one of the plentiful leaves or twigs to tee the ball.... nope. You basically just have to shove the ball, with no backswing, towards the hole... because the moment you try to backswing... yep, it just rolls.
The first 13-14 holes are great though.... so if you're up for a competitive round, maybe stop keeping score after 13.... you'll just be frustrated by...
