Don Ramon Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Parma Heights

My fiancé and I have always loved this restaurant. Until our last visit a few months ago. I ordered my usual burrito don ramon, and the waitress asked me if I wanted guacamole with it… I said no confused because it never came with guac, I thought maybe they changed the menu. Someone else brought out our food and I’m not sure what I received but it was not what I ordered. I’m not someone who ever sends food back or complains but I really wanted what I went there for and what I always order, so I spoke up and told our waitress Andrea who proceeded to tell me that I ORDERED WRONG? She showed me her note pad that did not have burrito don ramon anywhere on it… I have only ever gotten that so why would I have got something else I didn’t like? I was dumbfounded by the back talk, so my fiancé spoke up and asked if she could just bring me what I ordered. Andrea stated she had to talk to her manager.. because she got my order wrong? Okay.. she came back and said she can bring me what I ordered THIS TIME, but that I need to make sure I know what I’m ordering… huh?!???? As she was taking the wrong food away she said that the food was going to waste and it was my fault. As if anyone in the back wouldn’t have ate it happily? Or taken it home?? My fiancé had enough at this point and wanted to leave. I said no I really want the food that I ordered from the beginning. So I sipped my drink and waited again. Finally I got my actual order. After that we didn’t see our waitress until the bill came. And guess what? We got the wrong bill… our bill would’ve been around $70+ for everything we ordered. But hey this is the bill SHE BROUGHT, so it must be ours right, since that’s how it works here? What a joke. I have NEVER been so uncomfortable in a restaurant. We have always loved it here, typically fast service and great food. But now, during Covid, they have been catering to carry out orders before dine in. The server told us flat out, the kitchen is focusing on take out so we don't know how long your order will take! So, a family dining in is suppose to wait an indefinite amount of time?!?!? Apparently, they should just close the dining room and do ONLY carry out. We waited an hour, we should have gone elsewhere or ordered to go. TERRIBLE BUSINESS PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT!!!!!

Update: April 8, 2021. We came in for lunch to see if anything was different. The service was better but the food was very blah. The salsa with chips, not good at all, chips were odd and the salsa was all tomato flavor. The rest of the food we ordered was the same - very plain, nothing special. If I had to guess I would say they are bulk shopping from a generic food supplier and using cheap recipes to save money. I understand covid probably hit them hard and they need to recover costs but why should I spend my limited money on food that is blahhhhhhhhh. Such a shame, this place was so much better before. I ordered curbside pickup of beef taquitos. I had set it for my car, but we ended up taking a different car. Trying to make it easier for the staff, I went inside to pick it up inside of trying to explain on the phone. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with attitude. I stood and waited for help, a young lady walked up and clearly did not want to help me. Whatever, I explain the situation, that I ordered curbside and was hoping to just pick it up inside but that I didn't know where to go. I had assumed they kept the curbside close to the door instead of with the other orders by the bar. She walked away to talk to a coworker, who asked me what the problem was. I explained the situation again, he misunderstood, cut me off and told me to just order online. I said I had and he turned around to walk away. I assumed he wanted me to follow, we got to the bar and he just said "Name?" I told him and he said "Henry?." I say yes and he hands the order to me without word. I thank him and he just turned around. After I got home with the food, I found it to be completely bland. The rice was decent but that was it, no seasoning at all.
