Hounds Hot Dogs & Gyros — Restaurant in Parma Heights

This is an old school hot dog shop. Visited for the first time today, and i'm glad I did.

The hot dog was all beef and not salty at all. It was firm and had a nice texture. I tried to get the owner to tell me who made the dogs, but he said that was a secret. 😪😪

The onions were chopped perfectly, and the chili was flavorful. I had him put cheese and a strip of stadium mustard on it, but the chili/ onion, mix overpowered their flavors.

That being said, it was a wonderful blend of hot dog greatness. I can't remember how many years the owner said he's been here serving hot dogs, but he's definitely doing something right.

My reason for a zero star rating on the atmosphere is that the place doesn't need it. You drive up, order your food, get excellent service, then enjoy... end of story. There is a small outdoor seating area next to the shop, or you can eat in your car.

I can't wait to come back to try the gyros and the sausage...

I used to work around the corner form hounds and ate there damn near daily back when they first opened. The daily specials were so good. The pulled pork with coleslaw on it was the first time I’ve ever tried it like that. The chicken gyro was amazing as well, they also used to have delicious ice cream 😋Since I’ve been out of the area for a while I haven’t had a chance to be back. Today I stopped in after work and got four dogs. Gus remembered me after all these years. I got two sourkraut and mustard, one chili and one chili cheese.
