Meh. Waaaaaay OVERPRICED rice and beans... Everyone knows when you eat Mexican you're getting filled up with 80% tortilla chips & salsa, rice, and beans. Those main ingredients are extremely cheap. I don't understand where cozumel gets off charging the price they do for their dishes, but it's ridiculously high. They are priced like they are a high end Michelin star Mexican restaurant when really they are mediocre and attached to a bank. Paid $46 for a to go meal and once again, it was 80% chips, rice, and beans. The sad part is it mostly gets thrown away because Mexican food the next day just doesn't cut it. So we essentially paid $46 for a burrito, quesadilla, a small tortilla filled with beans lettuce and tomato they called a chalupa, and some queso dip. If I dropped $50 on pizza we'd be eating for days, instead at cozumel we get very little good food with a maximum amount of weak rice and beans.
In my mind it is not worth the price. There is too much competition in the area to get ripped off. I can go elsewhere and get the same amount of food for $20-$25 less for what I paid, yet it will taste the exact same. Low end mexican food is like breakfast, it is hard to get wrong and tastes the same. I've been to a high end mexican restaurant and it was nothing like the slop I was just fed.
I will not be returning to this restaurant let alone any cozumel in the near future. I highly recommend you find somewhere else to spend your hard earned money on. Heck go to the grocery store and buy some tortilla chips, rice, and beans for $10 and you can make what cozumel will give you for $8 and...
Read moreWas happy to see this location open and excited to try it. My husband and I tried it for the first time yesterday and we were not impressed by the atmosphere, service or food. Upon walking in, the atmosphere is just a very cold, sterile feeling, lacking a good Mexican restaurant feel. We didn't care for the atmosphere at all. Now for the food, service was not good. We were greated and seated is all I can say. I placed my order and the server came back around and asked a second time what I ordered and in the mean time another server / chef came to give us someone else's food, then upon receiving our food I was still given the wrong order even after they inquired twice. They did bring my chicken out to correct it but it wasn't good, the chicken tasted old was not good so therefore, I didn't eat it as well as half my order. My husband's order should of been Diablo on the spicy side but wasn't, not sure if they even gave him the right thing and the portion sizes were way to small, they cut his burrito in half to try to make the plate look full with a very small side of rice. No one came to ask if we wanted or needed anything else. No refills of any sort were offered, but the check was brought kinda rapidly. The prices were higher and the food given was the bare minimum, lacking fillings, toppings, and most importantly service. We didn't make any complaints, we just paid the bill and won't be returning to...
Read moreThey get Mexican food right! I've visited many Mexican and Latin restaurants in the greater Cleveland area. I've been disappointed most of the time. I wish this one was much closer to home. It was so good I would be a regular if I lived nearby. I certainly will stop there when I'm in Parma. I try the tacos at every place I go as a standard. I don't know why the beef never tastes right. To be fair, I moved here from Los Angeles which has the best tacos in North America. I've been in search of a really good place. I had the steak street tacos. This restaurant nailed them perfectly. The flavor of the steak was delicious. All of the vegetables were fresh and flavorful. The servings were plentiful. I should add that the service was excellent. Those guys really made me feel at home. Hope to...
