Royal Donut — Restaurant in Parma

November 2022: Made a donut run for the office and wanted something different. Furthermore, I had heard rumors about their pumpkin cake donuts and had to check it out.

Pros: Good donuts that are not overly sweet. I did stay away from the icing (heavier glaze) covered fruit filled donuts. Eat-in area and donut prep area appeared to be clean. Friendly cashier who answered all of my questions and was patient with me. She quickly notified me that the glazed honey bun was priced differently than the smaller pumpkin cake donuts. The pumpkin cake donut was simply delicious. A pronounced pumpkin flavor with a subtle glaze on it. Soft texture that tasted fresh. I encourage anyone to try them. Accepts cash and credit cards.

Cons: I did not try the coffee. There was a cappuccino machine and few coffee pots brewing. Nothing stood out as being fancy or comparable to a Dunkin or Starbucks.

I waffled whether to give this two or three. I’ve been passing near or by this place for years and always wanted to try it. Many locals raved of it too. Finally had an excuse today. Went in to just get two donuts and a coffee. No biggie anywhere else but I don’t carry cash and there’s a $5 card minimum. That itself doesn’t bother me but they will refuse anything under $5 and not charge a 50¢ or 75¢ fee as many other places do - I LIKE that because it still lets me just use my card and it’s not all that much. Long story short I had to get 2 extra donuts I didn’t want... And they aren’t bad. But they also aren’t super special either, even when compared to other local chains in the greater Cleveland area. It’s better if you’re just bringing in a box of a dozen for work - and that was not me today.

I came in here tonight after a long day at work; I wanted to treat myself, and my parents, too. WOW! I AM SO GLAD I STOPPED IN HERE! Nice, clean facility, with the delicious smell of tasty bakery and freshly-brewed coffee filled the air, as soon as I walked in! The young man at the counter who greeted me, picked my order, and cashed me out, was extremely pleasant, helpful, and courteous! As far as the doughnuts/bakery goes; an A+ ALL THE WAY! You simply won't find better doughnuts in the World! I've found yet ANOTHER reason to love Cleveland/Parma!
